Richard Heckenlaible

USN Veteran Korea Era

Iola, WI

June 5, 2009

Richard Heckenlaible, of Iola, father of member Richard Heckenlaible, II, has passed away and the family has asked us to join them in taking Richard to his final resting place in King Veteran’s Cemetery.  He was 67 years old. He was a veteran of the Navy, where he served in the as a Torpedoman’s Mate.  He was also and active member of the American Legion and had been an avid motorcyclist until his illness. 

Visitation

June 5, 2009

9:00 am to 11:00 am

VOIE Funeral Home

120 S Main Street

Iola, WI 54945

 

Staging is across the street from the funeral home.  Look for Richard’s red Electra glide with US and PGR flags.

 

Memorial Service

Follows immediately

11:00 am to 12:30 pm at the funeral home

 

Military honors will immediately follow the service at the funeral home.

 

Processional

Because of Richard’s love of motorcycling, his remains will be taken by his son on his motorcycle to the cemetery.  The processional will leave the funeral home 12:00 -12:30 and proceed to King’s Table in King, Wisconsin for a luncheon.  We will depart at 2:00 pm to the King veteran’s Memorial cemetery for burial.

 

No RC assigned at this time.  In PGR tradition, please be prepared and arrive with your own flag.

To the family and friends of Veteran Richard Heckenlaible,

There are no words or platitudes that can temper your pain. I can’t think of anything in life that could be more painful, then the loss of a loved one.

I would, however, like to take a moment to remind you that as deep as the hole in your heart feels at this time, it will be filled over time with the wonderful times spent together.
