Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Donald Peters, USMC, WWII Veteran. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is one of America's Heroes that will NEVER be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Donald.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

Wow. What kind of a man/Marine he must have been. He not only served his country, but then went on to raise 5 sons to do the same. You must all be very proud of him and of yourselves. Thanks to Donald Peters, and to his sons for their brave service and for my freedom! Wish I could have had the honor to meet him.
Rest in Peace.

The clouds departed as we gathered to Honor Donald Peters. Short notice, during the day, during the week and still we had a good turnout of members, including a couple new faces. Welcome gentlemen. Special thanks to J.T. for picking up the plaque in Kenosha and getting it to Watertown on time. Speaking with various family members we quickly realized that when you hear the term, "Salt of the Earth", it's the Peters family they're talking about. Not only are there 5 sons who served, but it seems every member of the family has, or is serving our country. So and so couldn't come from Camp LeJune, so and so is still in Afghanistan, etc., etc., etc,,, And I was impressed with the 5 sons who served.

Special thanks also go out to Dave and Jack for having flags staked at the cemetery for our arrival, and to J.T. and our new member, a retired LEO, (sorry I can't recall your name) for exceptional traffic control in getting the entire procession to the cemetery together. You guys rock.

To the family, I will say again, it was an Honor to stand for your loved one, Donald Peters. We all deserve Freedom, but Donald and you folks have gone out and earned it. We cannot thank you enough.
