Patriot Guard Riders - Thank you in advance for planning to attend this memorial service.

Planning is still underway. Please note that there is a Sheetz store 1 block north of the church at the intersection of Market & Walnut Streets. Also, we expect to change the staging area from the church parking lot to one of several other nearby lots to avoid over-crowding ... this change cannot be finalized and posted until Thursday, so please check this thread again late Thursday or early Friday.

Long-range weather is now calling for a high of 50 & mostly sunny on Saturday.

Take care, Joe

In regards to the above posting on Nov 15th, in regards to this memorial mission; a bit of information that might be helpful. There is a large unused lot, one and 1/2 blocks directly west of the church lot. This lot should easily hold 40 or more bikes and a few cages. There is an alley way that runs directly from the church lot to the stated lot on S. Liberty. The street intersection would be at W. Campbell and S. Liberty. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, Bob.  Tomorrow, we'll find out if we can use the funeral home lot directly beside the church, which would keep the bikes in sight the entire time.

While there, I will check out the lot you mentioned.  If it's available & large enough, we can use it for the staging & briefing location & cage parking, then have the bikes go park in the closer lot.

Thanks again for the suggestion.  Take care,    Joe

A Soldier's Prayer
(author unknown)

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of SSgt. Glen Hale Stivison Jr. ,Thanks for being one of our greatest heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.

We salute you , My Friend

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now,soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."
