I am a retired art teacher and retired part time (adjunct) art professor. My wife is a retired sixth grade teacher. Our daughter and son-in-law gave us two beautiful granddaughters. Our daughter is now in college. My son and daughter-in-law just gave us our first grandson. He reported for duty at Fort Polk on 28 Feb. 07 at 1300 hours and 13 minutes. He weighed in at 7 pounds and 13 ounces and was 20 inches long. He was immediately equipped with his ACU diapers and he was ready to go. HOOAH!
My wife and I are members of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. I went into the Prayer Team Ministry. I am a prayer warrior. That term 'warrior' has another meaning in my family. I come from a long line of military people, some one hitch and some career. We have representatives in our family from every branch, except the Coast Guard.
My father was a WWII Veteran and a Korean War Veteran. My brother is a Vietnam War Veteran. I came up on orders to go to Nam, but then my father had a bad heart attack. The Red Cross got my orders changed so that I spent the last 27 months of my hitch at Fort Jackson. Fort Jackson was the closest post to home with a slot open for my MOS.
My son will probably be career Army. I started thinking about joining PGR because of my son, but it was my daughter who finally got me to join. She saw a PGR Mission close to her home and was so impressed with it that she talked on and on about it. I joined the next day.
