I joined the Navy in 1976 after high school and spent the next 16.5 years sailing in the Pacific. I retired from the inactive reserve at 20 years. During my service I made three Westpac cruises, achieved status as an Air Intercept Controller and Master Training Specialist then recruited in Houston for three years. I was deployed to the Persian Gulf but never saw direct action.
