Hydmech= acronym for Aviation Hydraulics Mechanic. During my military service in the 1960's, I was a hydmech in the USMC. I worked on UH-34 helicopters, and C130 transports.
The Avitar is a photo of the tail logo from the helicopter squadron I served with in Vietnam from 1965-1966. We called ourselves "Ugly Angels". The Corps called us HMM-362. What the Grunts on the ground called us, probably would not pass FCC Regulations, and certainly would not pass PGR standards.
