Bio:
My first motorcycle ride, with my first active-duty Army man, was in Japan in 1958. I was less than ten-months old. That man was my dad, Special Forces/Green Beret/82nd Airborne/101st SSg. Larry L. Throneburg, Ret. He was--of course!--drunk. My mother was, I hear, livid. That charted the course for me life, I believe. ROFL As a recovered alcoholic (09/24/1985) who rides (09/2003), I am honored to be able to give back, just a little, to those who serve and have served. Most of what is on my vest belonged to my dad. Yes, he's alive--raisin' hell with the VA!--in Fayetteville. He wishes he could still ride but health stuff precludes that happening. I let him sit on mine when I visit NC! Nice of me, eh? I thank you all for allowing me to be a part of this organization. I look forward to participating. Tami C. ô¿ô 20 Jan 2007: This just in from The Dad-- "82d Airborne Div; 1st Cavalry Division; 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 77th SF Groups; SF Training Group (twice as Cadre - once as a Student); Institute Brigade, USA Institute for Military Assistance; 585th QM Company; US Army Petroleum Depot Far East. I was in the 101st when it was a leg, non-jumping, mother-humping, basic training unit at Fort Jackson, SC, just before I went to jump school." He also disputes the "drunken motorcycle ride with the baby (me!)" story, but Mother is sticking to her guns! Some things never change, thankfully! LOL
