I grew up in a very politically active family, and have alot of military heritage. My Father was in the Army during the Korean Conflict, and never talked about it until a couple of days before he died. My Mother worked at the Shelby Air Force Depot in the 50's, and spent time in Washington before that. My brother served 30 years in the Navy, did 4 tours to Viet Nam and retired as a Senior Chief. Both Grandfathers and I believe most of my Uncles where in the military. My nephew just joined the Navy, and with his ASVAB score, got into the Nuclear Program... he leaves for Basic in January. I'm not sure why, but I never got involved with any of the veteran's organizations. When I heard what the Patriot Guard did for our active military and veterans, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
