For my great-great uncle, who was color guard for the 20th Maine on Little Round Top.
For my great uncle, who served with the Yankee Division in France in 1917 and 1918.
For my father-in-law, who landed on Omaha Beach in June 1944.
For my father, S/SGT Leon Cote, USAF, who served in the Korean War.
For my friends George, Ernie, and the others, who came back from Viet Nam.
For the 58,000 others who did not.
And for my son, SGT Andrew Cote, 98th Div., USAR.
