Born next to a runway on Norton AFB in San Bernardino, California in 1961. I am NOT "from" California- I was raised Texan by parents that were stuck there when I was born, lol. Dad was a career Air Force officer. He spent 7 months in a POW camp in Germany at the end of WWII, the B-17 he was piloting having been shot down over eastern Germany in 1944. He retired a Colonel, command pilot, in 1974. Dad is resting in peace at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetary in San Antonio.
I joined the AF at age 17, the day after HS graduation. I left the service in 1983 at the rank of what was then called "Buck" Sergeant, (E-4), after having earned my wings as a Loadmaster on C-141B cargo jets, in the 86th MAS, Travis AFB in (gasp) California.
I have been with Southwest Airlines in Austin for 23 years as a Ground Operations Supervisor. I'm starting to get the hang of that a little bit and am in hopes that they'll keep me on...
I have ridden since I was 13. My 9th and most current bike is a 2003 Harley-Davidson Deuce. I have 3 Ironbutt Association certifications, 2 Saddlesore 1000's and a Bun Burner 1500. My summer vacation each year consists of at least 10 days and 3 to 5000 miles to somewhere in this beautiful, diverse country that we call home.
I am an independent- no club affiliation- and I like it that way. Until the PGR came along, I had no interest in ever being a member of any organized group. PGR is something I believe in, am proud to be a part of, and am thankful merely for the fact that it exists. I intend to ride with the PGR until the PGR rides for me.
