Veteran, United States Air Force (Viet Nam era REMF). Initially a Mandarin Chinese Linguist, I cross-trained into ATC. Left in 1983 as a Senior Air Traffic Controller, Crew Chief, NCOIC Training, RAPCON, McGuire AFB, NJ. Now an FAA Certified Professional Controller in Fort Worth, TX. ----- Joined the AMA in 1980 in order to house my motor in the *heated* hanger used by the Starlifters M/C at McGuire (had to be an AMA Member to join Starlifters). AMA Membership opened my eyes to the politics of riding. -- Joined the Patriot Guard in December, 2005. Appointed a Texas Ride Captain in February, 2006. Riding with the Guard is without doubt the most important and most fulfilling thing I can do on a bike. ----- UPDATE 20081209 - Retired from the FAA in APR of 2008; dividing my volunteer time between the PGR and my American Legion Post (www.alr135.org). [NOTE - The Blue Star banner is in honor of my son, PGR Member, Veteran of Iraq, fellow Legionnaire and active duty Cavalry Trooper Jared "Smeg" Ingersoll, SGT, United States Army.]
