 'I was born a poor black child' . . . Steve Martin from The Jerk. Not really as I have blue eyes and had blond hair. Born in So.CAL and raised in the Los Angeles area / Downey. Went to college / UCLA and into the Navy as a Communications Tech / Russian linguist in the Vietnam war era. Never made it in-country as I flew on A3s off aircraft carriers; Midway, Kitty Hawk, Coral Sea, Constellation and it's kindof hard to get one of those guys 'in-country'. I flew on P-3s too. That's how I got my nick name, Buz Sawyer; remember the Stars & Stripes comic strip ?? The Navy got me into computers which became my career. I 'retired' the end of 2007 and now have time to devote to things like the PGR. Have (2009) an ole lady / Carolyn, a beautiful 28 year old over acheiving married daughter / Katie, a 23 year old son / Christopher in the Army now in his second tour of duty in Southern Iraq / making me a Blue Star Dad and an even more beautiful 2 year old grand daughter / Delilah. I LOVE the Veteran brotherhood and had forgotten how much it means to me until I made a few PGR trips / Feb 2009 did my 100th PGR mission . . .
