May God bless and grant the Maupin family all the strength they will need to make it through this difficult time, and most especially in the quiet hours that will surly follow. Thank you so much for the gift of your son Matt! Wishing you love and light... Just one among a very grateful nation, Tymothy "Bodhi" Halsey Lebanon, Ohio Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise Him who is the health of my countenance and my God. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil; he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in, from this time forth, and even forevermore.

The TRUE measure of a man is how he treats those folks who can neither harm nor help his own causes...

I send my heartfelt condolences to the family of SSG Keith Maupin. I cannot even imagine the emotional roller coaster you have been on for the last four years. Please know your loved one is a hero in the hearts of true patriots all across America. Many of our citizens will never know the sacrifices made by those who defend our freedoms, or the sacrifices made by their families and loved ones…as a veteran, I know. Jesus said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”. Though I did not know your son personally, his sacrifice and service to the United States of America makes him my “friend”. God be with you, and may He give you an extra measure of peace and comfort at this difficult time. I salute your son for his service to our nation, and for the ultimate price he paid in defending our freedoms.

My deepest sympathies and condolances to the family of Hero SSG Keith Matthew Maupin. Keith and Carolyn, I like so many others have met you at many events, and have witnessed your strength, pride, and the honor and dignity at which you have always represented yourselves and your family, please know your sons memory and sacrifice will long be remembered and appreciated by many.

Matt to you I say... thank you and god bless, for your bravery and sacrifice is what allows myself and my family to live free in this great country. I hope you know that, although many may live lives much longer in years than yours, few will touch and bring together a city, a state, and a country the way you have, through your bravery and sacrifice. Keith and Carolyn are your parents, but you will forever be a son to all of us, thank you.

It"s not what you take....it"s what you leave behind.
