To the Lybert family, thank you for allowing us to attend Patrick’s funeral. It was a great honor for us to be there. We are the ones that owe people like Patrick our deepest respect for what he has given for all of us.

While standing at the cemetery, the sight of seeing the PGR, fire department, police, and sheriffs drive past showing their honor and respect for Patrick was emotional at best. We felt proud to be standing there with our flags waving in the wind. I must say that I was in aw and deeply touched as the hearse carrying Patrick drove past us and the wind stopped, our flags stopped moving and there was complete silence. After he past us and the hearse turned into the cemetery drive the wind started back up. I felt pretty small and at that point I had to believe that everyone and everything was bowing down in respect for Patrick.

Again, thank you for the honor of letting us be there.

WOW!!! This is only my third mission but I must say I was in total amazement when i looked across the staging area and seen what I counted as nearly 275 bikes and more then 300 members who had made the journey to honor such an obviously great young american hero.  But you know, as awesome a sight as that was, i was even more taken aback by the showing the community had given to young Patrick when we rode through the small town. It was truely a breathtaking moment when ones community in its entirety stands for someone, Staff SGT. Patrick Lybert was certainly a hero to his community and to his country, one that I wish I would have known but am honored to have stood for him as he has for all of us.

To the family, I can not put into words how to thank you for allowing me to honor your son. Please remember in your time of sorrow that you are not alone, but 43000 + fellow PGR members are with you.

We are honored to have you join us, humbled that you thought of us in your time of sorrow and thankful for all your son has sacrificed so we may yet continue our missions for these fine American Heroes.

Thank you,
Leonard Norton

GOD Bless the family of SSG Patrick Lybert. On Monday during the ride to the cemetary the metal post that my flag was attached to bent in two, causing me to pull over to recover my flag. The funeral procession slowed down enough to allow me to pull back into the ranks to allow me the honor of completing my mission. This was truely a blessing to my day.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord... Psalms 33:12 ESV

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7 ESV

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G.I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom

I wanted to say Thank you on behalf of my brother David Lybert, Pat's father and the entire Lybert family for all of you who were at Pat's funeral and escorting us that day.  I am the aunt that went around to meet you.  I apologize that I did not get to the second side of the street.  It was an honor to have all of you there.

Saying goodbye to my nephew Patrick was a very difficult thing to do, but the sheer awe I had in seeing all the flags and hearing them in the wind, gave me some sort of peace.  I know Pat was watching and saying how cool it was.

Thank you to those of you who took pictures as well.  I have been able to show co-workers how many Patriot Guard Riders there were and they can't believe it.

Thank you for taking time off of work or coming on your day off to share in my family's grief.  Thank you for spending your time, money and just making the trip.

Again, thank you for honoring my nephew.  What you did for us and Patrick will never be forgotten.

God Bless, Aunt Lisa
