Someone asked earlier about proper dress. We are bikers, with our own unique dress, but remember, this is not a 'biker' funeral. To see a few fellow bikers wearing 'grubbies' and some 'off-color' T-shirts and vests this past week on another mission is not very respectful, imho, and certainly does not portray a positive image to those observing our presence.
A decent pair of clean levi's and a patriotic t-shirt looks a heckuva lot better than tattered jeans and dilligaf patches. After all, we do 'g-a-f' -- that's why this organization exists. |

| Our family joined this wonderful cause today to celebrate and honor Robert. My husband grew up on the farm next to the Posivio's and he had the chance to watch him grow up over the years, becoming an amazing young man. We are truely honored to be a part of this organization. We will be there with heavy hearts, heads high, riding proud in his honor! |

| Don’t know if this was posted yet but the WBC site lists Lance Cpl. Robert G. Posivio III funeral as a planed picket, so I guess the misinformed will be joining us. |

Just found out that I could register to ride on Saturday. My son attended MCW HS with Robert's younger brother. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in honoring this fallen hero and his grieving family. God Bless You Bob and Patti in your time of sorrow!

I need a Bagger or whatever willing to pick up someone special to PGR in La Crosse early Saturday morning heading to Fairmont. She will need to be on the back of a bike with a backrest (preferrably) and will be taking pic's. I need a safe, steady driver for this.
Please contact me directly at jamesbono@mn.rr.com

PGR-MN,
A very generous offer has been extended to all PGR members present at the Fairmont staging location, then the Posivio Mission.
Please read below and support them with the purchase of a beverage.
As originally posted (post mission), we are asking all members to exit as we entered. As a group, two by two as one unit back to the Fairmont staging location once Law Enforcement is able to provide the support from this small town. At the staging location, which will be much safer, we will break into our respected groups and head out from there.
Please read below and support them with the purchase of a beverage.
Thank you, Jim
======================================================================== 6-1-06 George & John- As owners of the Sirloin House in Fairmont, we would like to invite all Patriot Guard Riders to the Sirloin House for a free sandwich and salad bar after the funeral on Saturday. To get to the Sirloin House exit I-90 on exit 102, go south on Hwy 15 approx. 4 miles. You will leave Fairmont to south about ½ mi on hwy 15, turn right at Hall Street, go west about ½ mi on Hall Street. When you hit the stop sign, the Sirloin House is on your right. We will be heading back to the Sirloin House if any one wants to follow us after the funeral. Any one arriving in Fairmont Friday Night, the Sirloin House will give 10% off any food items for PGR. The Fairmont Area Motorcycle Association would like to let everyone know that together with the community, we have also set up a lunch which will consist of ham sandwiches and chips as well as drinks that have come from various donations that have been received from the community businesses and individuals to show appreciation to all of the riders that can make it on Saturday. We will be holding this lunch back at the fair grounds for anyone that would like to attend after the services have commenced.
Thank You, F.A.M.A. |

Those that know me, knew I would not miss a mission so close to home. God bless the Posivio family. I hope our presence on Saturday eases thier burden, even if just a bit. |

| I'm a funeral director in Truman, Minnesota and if I'm not serving a family here, I'll be serving the Posivio family there in Welcome, MN. As a funeral director who also rides, I know how important it is to protect the family's right to grieve without interuption. Count me in!! Rest in Peace Lance Cpl. Posivio. |

| As a mother of a member of the US Army, he has been in Iraq twice and I have been one of the lucky ones to say he has returned home safe. Yet at these times I also feel guilt as my son is home and theirs are not. I pray for the Posivio family and all other familys of the fallen, OUR HEROS! I also remember Patty and Bob from years ago, as we went to the same school. I will definitely be there with all my red, white, and blue and PRIDE to remember our fallen hero and celebrate his life now and forever!!!!!! God Bless to the family of this TRUE HERO!!!!!! Karen |

There's a passage in the bible that comes to mind again and again as I read these posts, as well as all the other "mission complete" posts I read.
The quote is " If God is with us, who can be against us". I want to say that it is from Corinthians, but I'm not sure (been a while since I've been to Sunday school). I'll admit, I'm not the greatest when it comes to going to church, but I still believe and it does my heart good to see that others still feel the same as I do.
maybe Phelps should read a bit more of the Bible. There are passages in the bible other than Leviticus 20:13.
Back to the quote, I think this applies to the PGR. 30,000 members in less than a year, 'nough said. I would not presume to say we're doing God's work but we are doing good work, and the country is taking notice.
Sadly, the media does not pay attention to this, but who can blame them? We're not throwing punches and screaming obsenities. We're standing quietly beside the road holding flags. That's not interesting news.
But it's the right thing to do, and I, for one, feel obligated to do that much at least. I wish I could do more.
Phelps, as soon as you realize that the only reason you are allowed to stand there (on the American Flag) is because of that brave man being laid to rest, common decency should prevail. Applaude him, mourn him, respect him.
That is the only reason the PGR exists, because of you, and your hate-filled, skewed logic rhetoric.
OK, I've rattled on too long. Just needed to say a few things. God bless the USA, God bless our troops, god bless all!
Wishin' everyone a safe ride, try to keep 'em shiny side up. Dunca |

Dunca,
I wholeheatedly disagree that the UGs are the only reason PGR exists. Sometimes it takes a bad thing happening to wake up the rest of us to do the right thing. Though they may have been a reason for staring it, let me pose this simple question to you:
If the UGs ceased to exist would you still ride on these missions?
I know I still would. Make no mistake about it, these missions are each to honor an individual who sacrificed himself for the greater good of us all. They should continue to happen as long as there are fighting men and women who sacrifice themselves for us. It's really a shame that we haven't been doing this since World War I. Let's all remember this: UGs or no, we ride to honor our fallen American Heroes.
For those of you who have never attended a mission before you will find this experience to be something you will never forget. Words cannot explain how it feels and the emotions that well up while standing guard for the farewell salute to a fallen American Hero. I understood somewhat before my first mission having buried fellow firefighters before, but I think this mission will leave you with a new perspective on what this is all about. |
