To all of those coming by car. You are the people who will just have to be a little more creative with your planning. Just because we can't have any cars at the HD shop in Seaford, does not mean that you can't participate. Your participation will just be limited to being at the church....after all...that's where we will all wind up. Please find the church, and try to park a couple of blocks away to allow family and friends parking at the church. The bikes will be parking at the Middle School at this point with a DSP trooper staying with them, and we will be walking to the church from there. Please let's not turn this into a "Who Rides With Who" situation. In the end, it's who stands shoulder-to-shoulder honoring Cpl. Palmer and his family.

I will be leaving the WaWa in Charlotte Hall at 0915 to muster with Richard B at Rips.
If you want to make the run with me, be fueled and ready to go.  We will fuel again in Bowie.
This is such an important run folks, I can't stress it enough.  We will not wait nor stop.  I will try to arrange a
chase truck for breakdowns.

Not a rider, but wanted to help out as I have to work Sat and Sun

1--Gateway park is very small, about 100x200 feet down by the nanticoke river.  This is located at least 1/2 mile from Cranston Funeral home, and about 1/4 mile from St. John's Church.  NEITHER will be visible from Gateway Park.

2--In back of Cranston's Funeral home (one block) is Nylon Blvd.  It is a long road bordering the golf course with a lot of clear room to park bikes or cars.  We line up there every year for the Christmas parade!

3--Large parking lots such as the Nylon Capital shopping center (old Woolworth) or the old Ames lot are a pretty good hike to the church, somewhere in the distance of 1/2 mile.  Parking "in the neighborhood" around St. John's will be VERY difficult as this is the old side of town (narrow old streets).  Another good spot to park would be in back of Seaford Middle and Seaford High School.  The school would also be closer than either Nylon Capital or Ames by a little.  School is located at intersection of Stein Hwy (Rt. 20 W) and Market St. , Seaford, DE  19973 (for you mapping people).  Walk South on Market St (crossing Stein/Rt. 20), and then walk 2 blocks south, turn right on Poplar St.  You won't miss it.

Thanks to all of you honoring Cory.  He was a good kid and comes from a good family.  Really not a bad one in the bunch.

Thank you

What Greg said-

I don't think that parking this afternoon will be difficult for those presenting the Corridor of Flags @ the funeral home - Shipley Street itself is pretty wide, Nylon is (as you say) very wide, and if nothing else, the Allen's Hatchery @ Rust/Shipley should have parking that could be used if necessary.

The parking lot @ Seaford Middle has been secured for use by our group.  We well be heading from Seaford H/D under police escort to the rear of Seaford Middle school, which is where the bikes will park for the event.  We'll need to cross Stein on foot and make the 3-block walk to the church.

But - for all bikes, the rally point is Seaford Harley - everything will flow from there.

I just want to apologize if I said anything disrespectful while giving directions. I am not computer savy and I have never joined a forum before. I know the Palmer family and I would never do anything to disrespect them. They are the finest people I have ever met. My heart breaks for them. I guess I got caught up in emotions and didn't think through what I was writing. Sorry.

Sue and I will be leaving Milford, De at approx. 1100 to go to Seaford.  We are travelling via auto.  If anyone would like a ride, please call 302-424-4306, and we can get together. At this point, we are riding in her car, if enough come, we'll take my van.  We will go directly to the Seaford Middle School parking lot and walk from there to the church.  Semper Fi.

There were enough of us at the Funeral home this afternoon for a good flag showing. Many of the mourners expressed their gratitude to us for being there. My response was always "It is my honor sir/ma'am" and most of the others there said something similar. I am very proud and glad to be a Patriot Rider! All outstanding people there and I am glad I had a chance to meet you all! I hope I get to see you again tomorrow for the service, and if not it was an honor to stand with you. I will be there on Tuesday night and on Wednesday for Rick James as well. Also a special thanks to Clay for making me feel welcome! This is what it is all about folks!

Hey Guys,
This afternoon and this evening went well at the funelal home. We had a presence there from 3 - 7 pm. Besides family and friends Gov. Minner, Sen. Biden and Sen. Carper were all in attendance. Sen. Carper paid his respects and then made a point to come by each one of us and shake our hands and to say thank you. The Vietnam Vets MC also came to pay their respects and we got the same thanks from them. All went well, and judging by the thread and by the calls I've been getting, we are going to have a good turnout tomorrow.
Now I'm going to sound like I'm repeating myself, but I'd rather think of it as positive reinforcement. If you are coming in a car, truck, van, etc...PLEASE do not attempt to come to Seaford HD. You will be turned away for safety.
Also, PLEASE don't park at the Middle School. That will be parking for the bikes, so we can then walk down the street to the church. Again I ask you 4-wheeled folk to be a little creative and patient at the same time and find a spot NEAR the church or NEAR the middle school, but please DO join us.
Everyone please get there safely and I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Another place to park, which is a little over a football field away from the middle School would be the High School. Plenty of parking, close to where the bikes are and still within walking distance . As Clay said, a very good turn out. I and Bernadette were there from about 2:30 and the Support and well wishes along with all the Thank you's where just increadible. Us showing that we care does mean a lot.

We arrived in Seaford around 7 pm, went directly to the hotel to check in. As soon as we got off the bike folks were thanking us for being here. From the hotel we went directly to the funeral home. We were expecting to join the line of flags but everyone was already gone except for Bob and Bernadette. Folks at the funeral home also thanked us for being here. We joined Bob and Bernadette for dinner and people came out to thank us for being here. It's overwhelming, folks giving us the thumbs up and waving. We're here to support a fallen soldier and his family and that is how we respond, and also to tell them what an honor it is to be here.
