Hello Ron Are there going to be many riders meeting at Diamond Jim's Mall ? I live in St Paul and I am going to Ladysmith to pay my respects, I will be on 4 wheels, so if any of the riders need me to haul flags or anything I got room. I will be bringing flags and a cooler with water. You can email me at flagwaver1955@yahoo.com or call my cell 651-399-7604 Thanks, Lisa Murphy (flagwaver) |

All: I am getting conflicting local weather reports at this time of showers in the Ladysmith area on Tuesday morning. Low looks to be near 50° so it won't be too chilly but if you get damp you'll chill in a hurry. I'd advise to bring/wear the suits if you've got 'em.

Ole,
Yeah. I head into Roch, then turn West on 14 (by the big ear of Corn). It's @ 5 miles shorter than taking the Eyota exit off of 90 and going backwards.
Elkhunter, thanks for the offer. It takes me about 2 hours to get to that part of the cities. I'll just head over to Roch and ride with them again. |

BigMike1122: I hunt up north and my 'normal' route is: 12 east to 65 north to CTY G east to 63 north to 8 east. I planned on leaving Roberts around 7:00 or so. If that route fits yours I don't mind the company. I planned on gassing up in Barron but am open to whatever.
Keystone: If you're headed up 63 we could probably link up somewhere as that's a large part of my route north.
Let me know if anybody wants try to go together and we can arrange something. Otherwise I'll see you there.

I just checked the weather outlook for our ride up to Ladysmith tomorrow.
According to www.weatherbug.com there is a 30% chance for rain and thunderstorms for Tuesday so if you're heading up there on your scoot make sure you bring your rain gear and make sure you drive defensively. Nothing would be worse on this sad day then one of us gettin hurt or worse heading there or towards home. Just ride aware and awake. Remember your stopping distance is greatly increased on wet roads so look far ahead at all times...
Another thing. Riding north during those early morning hours keep your eyes peeled for deer and turkeys. That's the time of day when the are on the move. Believe me I know that hitting a deer can ruin your day.
Ride safe and see you all in Ladysmith.

Hello Ron (elkhunter40) and Lisa (flagwaver) Geez, I just live up the hill and about 2 miles from Diamond Jim's, so I would be glad to meet ya there! It's only about 40 miles to Lindstrom from my house (per Yahoo Maps), and we should be okay traffic-wise leaving that early - most everyone else is coming south when we're going north.
And thanks to the incredible service from the PGR Store (ordered 5/8, received 5/13), I'll be able to wear my new PGR armband for this mission. See you all tomorrow, and keeping Sgt. Vacho and family in my thoughts and prayers. Pat Stitzel |

I'll be ready to leave the Holiday station at 7:00AM. Hope that works for you. Turtle Lake is about 40-45 miles from Roberts so that should put us to Turtle Lake around 7:45 or so. Probably before the Lindstrom group goes through but we can always stop for a warmer-upper if need be. It's about 50-55 miles from Turtle Lake to Ladysmith and I'd really like to be there around 9:00-9:15 or so. Kind of early but being late is a pet peeve for me, especially for an event such as this, and I don't want to be draggin' in as everyone is rolling out to (or has already left for) the school.
If that works for you then I'll see you tomorrow morning. I'll be the one with the ape hangers and 3X5 out back.

| This was my first (and hope, only) mission for the PGR. I would like to commend ALL Wisconsin PGR members and the Ride Captains for a job well done! A special thanks to 'Doc'. Another hats off to all PGR-MN members that attended and 'Retrodude' for putting the ride together.

I am sitting here just thinking about todays events. The sadness of the day and the patriotism I felt as I stood shoulder to shoulder with young and old alike. Just looking down that highway at all those flags, cycles and proud patriotic Americans was a heart warming sight. During the days events I met some very nice people as I mingled and want to tip my hat for taking the time to leave your normal lives, wherever that might be, to honor this fallen hero. I would guess most of us didn't know Sgt. Vacho, but when we headed out after the funeral, I'm sure you felt as I did, that he was now part of our family as we are now part of his.
To we are needed again, ride safe.
