13 Mar 2006 9:59 AM Alert
I just did a quick count of the "standing by"s and "I'll be there"s. I got lost somewhere around 100. Folks, there is plenty of time to rearrange things so we can show our respect for this fallen Marine. I've had to say it too many times but, our sacrifice of time, comfort, gas, etc is very small compared to the sacrifice this young man and his family has made to keep our freedoms and rights. It is because of him and thousands of men and women now serving and who have served in the past that we have the freedom and right to show our respects in the way we do. Let's show the world what an American Patriot is. Let's show them what the Patriot Guard Riders do!

If you're in the Central or Southern parts of Texas and have not yet sent me your contact information to get on the mailing list, feel free to do so. I'll email any and all updates or information I have on this ride.

I'll be scouting a rally point for South and Central Texas riders to meet somewhere on the North end of Round Rock. I'll have that information within 72 hours. It will be posted here and to the mailing list.
Thank you!

So as to avoid confusion, a new thread for the North Carolina leg of this mission has been created.

North Carolina members, follow that thread in order to obtain details regarding the escort mission.  An itinerary will be posted as soon as it is available.

Fort Worth riders. I humbly suggest meeting at the Home Depot in South Fort Worth. It is located at exit 43 on I-35W. Those traveling north on 35W must loop back south at exit 43.

I'll traviling in from I-20, either through dallas or south down either 36 or 84, depending on how many are coming from nw tx. Please email me (brian.mccue@cox.net or brian.mccue@dyess.af.mil) if anybody is coming though abilene or it isn't that far outta the way. I don't want to ride alone, and I'm sure my CC would be more comfortable if I had company ;)

I have a feeling...that this may be a very large event. My thoughts and prayers are with Gunnery Sgt Fry and his family. I'm also praying that you all have a safe and successfull ride to honor this fallen Marine. I'm too far away to make this one, but will be there in spirit.
