Heading North From Onalaska to MN:

Per my previous post, I'll be heading north from Onalaska through Arcadia after the service. Below is the list of towns I'll be riding through and stopping at, about once an hour or as needed. My best guess is 4 hours solid riding plus time for stops.

-Onalaska to Arcadia (Hansen's Hold-up) on curvy & scenic roads
-Arcadia to Gilmanton, again various curvy roads
-Gilmanton to Ellsworth, less curvy. (this is where we hook up with WI 10 and take it back to St. Paul)
-Ellsworth to St. Paul via WI 10

I'll be stopping about every hour at the places above or as needed. I know I'll be growing more tired as the day progresses, which is why the route gets more straignt as the day progresses (but not superslab straight, not how I like to ride).

If you want to tag along, send me an email and we can make arrangements. I'll be riding the blue FJR1300 shown in my picture, I suspect it'll be easy to spot.

For those that are leaving very early in the A.M., please give yourself plenty of room from the one in front of you. I think the critters will be out after last nights storm.

I would like everyone to read this link. It is the front page story about the hero we will be riding for. It says more then I could.

A local resturant has decided that they want to come to us instead of us having to try to carry coffee on the bikes. They will be serving coffee at the staging area for just $.50 a cup. They are providing everything for the coffee and the staff to serve it so it's a good deal for those who have to get up early.

We have a meeting at 0800 with the LEO and funeral home to hash out any final details so yes, we will know what is suppose to happen just before the mission. From what I've seen the weather should be good. I want to thank you all beforehand on the support you have shown the family and I want you to know that you guys make me proud to be a member.

Hey North Metro Riders -

Just a reminder that we will be leading a group (assuming more than just my husband and I show up, ha-ha) down to Inver Grove Heights from the Holiday Gas station on 169 & Champlin Drive in Champlin. You can see the details on my earlier post (North Metro Staging Area)

We'd love to have more "northerners" join us, so come on down! We'll be leaving at 4:00 am (Ouch!)

Until tomorrow,

Alena

Mitch,
We are gathering at the BP station (probably not open yet) by K-Mart on highway 20 about 4 AM. Going to meet other riders in Dickeyville about 4:30. Leaving early but rather be there early instead of late. May try to get breakfast on the way.
?'s, my # is 563-556-5851.
cell is 563-590-5089 but don't usually use it on the bike. Too noisy.
Call me anytime if you want.

The Harley Davidson dealership if just off I-90 at the corner of 12th Ave S and Oak Dr. It is visible from I-90 but not from the two nearby exits.

There is construction on I-90 and the westbound (from Tomah) exit #3 to north to Hwy 35 in Onalaska is closed. The eastbound (from Minnesota) exit #3 to north Hwy 35 is open.

If you are westbound on I-90 use exit #4 to Hwy 157, then turn right (west) onto CTH SS at the traffic light. Proceed west to 12th Ave S and turn right (north) onto 12th Ave S and continue north just past I-90 to Oak Forest Dr.

There is also construction at the intersestion of Hwy 35/2nd Ave S and on Oak Forest Dr.
