I was hoping that a matter would rectify itself by last night and it appears that is not the case so. Unfortunately i may not attend. If i can work something out today i'll see you at 0715.

I have been sitting here trying to find the words to respond to your posts. For you to take the time, especially so early, to think of us in your time of sorrow and loss is just so humbling to me and an honor. Looking thru my tears and the heavy and warm feeling in my heart, it is still hard for me to express how I feel.
Patrick has given the ultimate sacrifice for his country and will always be remembered as a "HERO". You too, have given the ultimate sacrfice and you are a "HERO" to me.
Get some rest "Mom". Patrick's brothers and sisters will be there by your side with honor and respect.
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts

Hey NW riders,
I sent this to Kevin and told him he could put it on the PGR site, but don't see it so here goes...
Since the staging time has been changed in Lindstrom to 8 am, I'm planning to be at the Nowthen gas station at 6:30 am and leave at 6:45. That should be plenty of time to get to Lindstrom. I'll be the guy on the red V Strom.
Here are directions:
The Nowthen gas station is located on Cty Road 5 (Nowthen Blvd) and Cty 22. If you take Hwy 169 north to Anoka, when you get to Main Street, continue straight through the lights (you will then be on Hwy 47/Ferry Street) - 169 turns left at Main - don't go that way. Follow Hwy 47 past Hwy 10, around the Anoka Cty. fairgrounds, and north to Cty 5/Nowthen Blvd (there is a Holiday gas station on the right). Take a left on Cty 5/Nowthen Blvd, and follow that through Ramsey to Cty. 22 (you'll be in Nowthen and there is a church on the right at that corner). Go left at Cty. 22 and the gas station is on the right side of the road.
I would say from Maple Grove it's probably 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. There are of course stop signs/lights on 169 to deal with, but if you leave the 494 Target by 5:45, you should get to Nowthen by 6:45 easily. I assume we will all fill out waivers in Lindstrom.
I took this route for the Vacho mission in Ladysmith, and seems to me it was about 130 miles from my home in Ramsey (just south of Nowthen) to Ladysmith. Cty 22 hooks up to 8, so it's a pretty direct route, and a nice ride too.
If anyone needs to reach me, they can email me at dhunter_mn@netzero.net, or call my cell at 612-210-7048. See you there.

ATTN: MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL SOUTH METRO & SOUTHERN MN RIDERS:
If you live in the south metro or even further south than that and are looking for a rallying point, a group of us are planning on starting out from the McDonald's/truck stop (McStop) located at I-35 and County Road 70 in Lakeville; leaving there at 0600. From there, we're headed north up I-35/I-35E to Moose Country Bar & Grill in Lilydale just 1/4 mile off the freeway to the north on Hwy 13, where we will be meeting up with a couple of other groups and the Twin Cities Metro Ride Captain. We will depart from there at 0625 and take I-35E north to Forest Lake and then on US-8 in to the main rally point in Lindstrom. We should get there approximately 0700, allowing plenty of time to refuel and have a cup of coffee before the larger group heads out for Ladysmith at 0800 and arriving at the staging area there by 0945.

Hello, I am SSG Patrick L. Lybert's Mom. Just wanted to help George (gwinslow) out by explaining our hold up in confirming dates was because there was no assurance of return date of my son from Afghanistan. Not until confirmation came via our Casualty Assist Officer that he had bee nreleased from Dover and was headed to the airport in the Twin Cities could we release dates, times. We are so blessed though as the soldier he had served with in Iraq, was also with him in Afghanistan. His men, and this devoted soldier and friend campained to get him home to us earlier then we were orginally told to expect. Thank you to each of you for the tributes you offer in postings and ride. Sincerely, Cheryl L. Nussberger I'm sorry for any confusion Ma'am, but I fully understand the situation, I was just attempting to get everyone else to stop pressuring Mac to release details when it just wasn't possible to do so. I've been the person who was responsible for planning a mission in Minnesota and know what is involved. Please accept my apologies for any distress my post may have cause you.
I only wish I could do more to honor your son's sacrifice than just attending the funeral. It's young men like your son who pay the ultimate price for our freedoms. That's a price that we as citizens can never fully realize or begin to repay.

I just walked in the door after returnng from SSgt Lybert's mission today, and all I can say is WOW! What an awesome turnout to honor this Hero! It makes me so proud to stand next to each and everyone of my PGR brothers and sisters to perform this sad and solemn duty, and I was especially proud today to be from Northwestern Wisconsin. The support and gratitude that the community of Ladysmith bestowed upon SSgt Lybert, his family and friends just left me in awe as we passed through the town and even out into the quiet country backroads. This community came together as one to honor their fallen son, and the entire community should be proud of what they did today. From the children waving their small flags, the many seniors who stood so proudly with there heads bowed and hats in hand, the business owners and their employees who all stopped what they were doing to line the sidewalks to pay their repects to their hometown Hero. I am not the least bit ashamed to say the tears were streaming down my face as we passed by all these fine Patriots. The respect shown by motorists was astounding! I thought the tradition of pulling of the road as a funeral procession passed was a long forgotten one, but I was truly inspired by the dozens of motorists (many vacationers and visitors to the area, I am sure) who patiently sat on the shoulder of the roads as the long procession wound its way to the cemetary. Many exiting their vehicles and standing proudly and politely by the side of the road paying their respects to a hero I'm sure many never even heard of. And then the fine folks out in the country who stood so quietly at the end of their drives offering their strong, silent reassurance to the family of SSgt Lybert that he truly was their Hero. It all just fills me with such pride in this great Nation of ours. It is impossible to describe, yet I am sure each and everyone of you that were there know exactly what I mean. Thank You to each and everyone of you that traveled from near and far to make this yet another successful mission.
And to SSgt Lybert's mother, Ms. Cheryl Nussberger, ma'am, you too are my hero. The strength and character you have shown by your commnts here are beyond description. It is clear to me where your son gained the character to become the fine young man he so clearly was. God Bless You as you continue through this tragic loss and the grieving process that goes with it. Thank You for inviting us to be a part of this day. Your graciousness and hospitality during this difficult time will be remembered by us all.......and Welcome to the PGR family and know that you have 40,000+ new friends who will be praying for you and with you and offer our support and assistance in any way we can!
Thank you all again for your continued renewal of my pride in this great Nation and the wonderful people I so proudly call my friends!
God Bless You All!

| Very nicely put Dan. What else can be said. Thanks to all who came out in support. Extra thanks to the Minnesota guys who showed and also lent a hand. Sorry for any confusion, as the funeral procession ride was news to me as I got there. The Rolling Thunder guy had worked that out with the LEO and in the parking lot there, was the first I heard about it. I thank him for his outstanding efforts also.Great job one and all. |

I just got home myself and I'd like to add a few thoughts. This was
my first opportunity to attend the internment/military honors services and I found it
very moving. I know we can't always do this so it was a special honor
to be able to do so today. For those of you who weren't facing the same
direction as I was, I'd like to let you know that there was an eagle
soaring above the tree line during the time everybody was gathering at
the gravesite. Just before the services began the eagle was joined by a
second and together they left the area. An "atta boy" is due the PGR
ex-serviceman who held a salute throughout the entire military honors
ceremony which was quite long due to the two flag presentation
ceremonies. Thank you everybody for the great turnout, it was an honor to stand beside you all today. |

| Thanks to ALL the PGR members that showed up today in Ladysmith. This what the PGR is all about. Respect and honor.
As each mission passes it's still humbling to have family members, the troops and townspeople thank US for being there. WE are not what it is about. It is about a soldier giving the ultimate sacrifice for his/her country. We are there to honor that.
Rest in Peace SSgt Lybert. |

Joe and I wish to thank the Lybert family for allowing us to honor their son. I was moved beyond words today especially at the cemetary. I've never seen a military funeral like this and to look around and see all those flags in the breeze was just heartwarming. And yes, I saw the eagles. It was a privelage and an honor to stand beside all of you today. Thank you.

I have just returned home from Ladysmith and I am so full of emothion I hardly know what words to use. I am from the Milwaukee area and so I rode up Sunday and stayed at the Americinn Lodge overnight and joined the group Monday morning. During my stay at the Americinn Lodge I was privilaged to talk to several family members two of which are Patricks aunts. God bless you all.
Monday morning I was outside getting my bike ready to go in the rain and one of the reletives, I think she may have been an aunt, brought me out two sweetrolls. Is this a great family or what Here they are at a very sad time and yet they are thinking of me. I am so humbled by this.
I would like to thank the riders from Minnesota for coming with such a large contingent and helping us out in Wisconsin.
It is going to be a while before I donot have the images of the people in this great town on my mund. I saw people young and old, little children holding flags with their hands over their hearts, I saw people saluting, I am overwhelmed. During the ride to the cemetery I saw people holding signs up for SSGT Patrick L Lybert and there were times when I was so proud of being able to attend this tribute to Patrick a bonifide hero I could hardly contain myself.
I had several of the military personnel come up to me after the cemetery services and thank me for being there. I assured them that it was not about us, it was about them. One young soldier said to me that he had attended a number of funerals prior to this but he had never seen anything like it. He said he was just amazed at our support and show of the American flags.
And I want to say to Patricks mom, God bless you. I have gotten to know your son a little on my stay in your town. When I rode in from the Milwaukee area, I came in to Ladysmith on HWY 27 and as I rode along, I was trying to imagine those places where your son would have frequented. I was given a newspaper from Ladysmith about Patrick so I now know many of the things he did.
I shall not forget you nor your son for the service he has done for our country.
