| I have to double check my schedule but if I go I'll be driving my 3/4 ton truck w/16ft. flatbed trailer. Once I'm sure I'm going, I'll post here, and anyone that wants me to haul anything (including motorcycles) it'll be no problem. I'd meet with the group coming out of Lakeville HD. Semper Fi, a former Marine. |

A small observation - at another mission, it bothered me to see cigarette butts left behind by us (and I am a smoker). I made sure my butts went in my pocket, and didn't smoke at all around the family and friends, like when they were exiting the church. At a time like this, little things *do* matter.
Imagine that's your brother, your son, your nephew being laid to rest...and act as you'd want others to act on such a day. I don't want to do anything, no matter how small, that would diminish the respect and gratitude I feel for someone who gave all.
Monica, thanks for your observation. This will be my first Mission and I for one will not belong to an organization that places a bad face on themselves. I have been reading many of the Mission reports and looking at pictures to make sure I wanted to participate. I have seen and read wonderful things. The sole reason for the Mission is to honor our heros and to put a bad face on this organization would really bother me. So thanks for bring up this situation. I'm sure that the smokers in the group don't really mean to put a bad face on this organization. Sometimes things just happen because it's a habit. Maybe it's time to consider giving up on that smoke stuff.
This particular Mission appears to be growing into one of the largest this state has had. I'm sure that the media will be coving and the PGR has a tremendous opportunity to show what they are all about.
I'm looking to meet a few of fellow PGRs Saturday. |

Does this schedule hold true if one will be traveling there by automobile? Or could we go directly to Welcome and line up somewhere near the funeral home before the motorcycle procession arrives? John |

| Anyone planning the SW direct route from Minneapolis? For me the 212 - 169 - 60 - 15 route through mankato is way shorter than taking the freeways. |

Me too. I'm in Chaska near the McDonalds. Are you all going to try to meet up with the group at Mankato HD then too?
Sorry if we are jumping ahead of the plan...

Dave,
McD's in Chaska would work great as a meeting spot. I thought I read that the Mankato group was going straight into Welcome to handle traffic control.

They are... but I figured lots of people might meet up there to ride together. Maybe a staggered start with two groups from there. They'll let us know I'm sure.
I suspect there will be a large scale itinerary soon, with a list of major scheduled meeting points as well.
(And if there is anything I can do to help make things happen, I am always willing to help this organization in any way that I am able.)
Standing by, ~Dave

It is extremely important that everyone plan on going to the Fairmont Staging area 2 wheels/4 wheels. There is a mission meeting at 8:15am that is extremely important for everyone to attend. Please make every possible effort to be there. Please do not go directly to Welcome. We ask that you attend the mission meeting at 8:15am at the Fairmont Staging area.
Thank you for your cooperation in this.

Do you have any idea of the time you will go through Jackson? We will be coming up from Spencer Ia and would like to meet up with a group. I was thinking of going the backway to Fairmont but was hoping there would be another bunch to hook up with. Thanks T |

Thank you for my freedom, Lance Cpl. Posivio. God bless you and your family.
Ready to go in Burnsville, will be at TCHD for staging at 4:30 am. My truck bed is available for any supplies that may be necessary, and I've also got one seat available for anyone who'd like to carpool, (sorry, no A/C). Anyone interested call me, Steve 612-799-2383.
Safe travels to all involved, try to keep 'em shiny side up.

Combined Rochester and Albert Lea Ride Plan for the Mission to Honor LCpl. Posivio. Saturday, June 3, 2006 4:15 AM......Meet at Walmart South Parking Lot, 25 25th Street S.E., Rochester, MN 4:30 AM......Leave Walmart 5:10AM.......Arrive at Lake Geo Truck Plaza,(BP station), I-90, Exit 193 North side of I-90, Pick up any additional riders. 5:15AM.......Leave Lake Geo Truck Plaze. 5:50AM......Arrive at Albert Lea Harley Davidson, pick up additional riders. 6:00AM......Leave Albert Lea Harley Davidson 6:30AM......Arrive at Blue Earth, Shell Food Mart, I-90, Exit 119. Everyone gasses up here. 6:40AM......Leave Blue Earth, Shell Mart 7:00Am......Arrive at the Fairmont Fair Grounds. Our route will be straight west down I-90. We will be traveling at the posted speed limits. If you are not comfortable riding at these speeds for this distance on interstates, it's no problem at all if you take your car or ride by yourself on roads and at speeds you are comfortable with. Be save and ride with in your comfort and experience level. I will be responsible for the staging area at the fair grounds in Fairmont. That is why I will have to leave a bit early. I need help at the fairgrounds, getting bikes parked and organized for the ride over to Welcome. If you are coming with me, I sincerely appreciate the help. (I guess that means if you are coming with me you are volunteering to help out at the staging area.) Like always, every one has to sign the PGR Waiver of Liability. If you can't make it this early, it's no problem. Just be at the fairgrounds in Fairmont between 7:30 and 7:45 AM.
Ride safe..... |
