18 May 2006 8:54 PM Alert

Attention Attention Attention PGR Riders

Date Change  Sorry hit the wrong key

We have a confirmed mission for SPC Aaron P. Latimer of Ennis Texas

Services are at Keever Funeral Chapel 408 North Dallas in Ennis Texas at 2:00 PM Saturday May 20,2006

Staging will be at the Super Wal-Mart on Ennis Ave. in Ennis Texas. The Wal Mart store is 1 block west off of I-45.

If you are coming in on I-45 from the north take exit 251B and go to the light which will be Ennis Ave. you will turn right at the light and go about 1 block and turn right into Wal Mart parking lot.

If you are coming from the south on I-45 your exit is 251B turn left at the light (Ennis Ave.) and go about 2 blocks to Wal Mart and turn right in the parking lot,

If you are coming by way of 287 or Hwy 34 Wal Mart is about half way between Main St and I-45 on the north side of the street.

Staging will be 12:30 to 1:00 Pm, Riders meeting at 1:00PM and KSU at 1:10 for a short ride to the funeral home. The Funeral home is blocking an area across for the Chapel for our parking and wall of flags. The cemetery is about 8 blocks away.

We will set up a wall of flags across the street from the Keever Funeral Chapel at 1:30 Pm to honor the arrival of family and friends. After the chapel service we will also provide a flag escort to the cemetery and provide a wall of flags to the cemetery services. Fortunately for us the parking area is covered by massive trees, some reprieve from the heat.

Ennis Police Department has given us their blessings and will allow us to arrive in a single procession so we will need several road guards to control intersection for the short trip to the funeral home.

Bring your flags and prayers for this family and friends of this fallen Hero

Never forget our purpose TO HONOR AND RESPECT OUR FALLEN HEROS AND FAMILY

If anyone coming from or passing through the Fort Worth area wants to join up, I'll be at the Citgo station at Sublett & 287 in Arlington at 11:00 am Saturday.  It's on the north/west bound side of 287, a couple miles south of I-20.  There's a McDonalds there too.  We'll need to KSU from there about 11:30 to get to the Walmart in Ennis about 12:30.

Patriot Guard Riders, welcome to Ennis. Just a little logistical information for those who will be on the SPC Latimer mission tomorrow. Business US Hwy 287, for those coming from Ft. Worth, runs right through the middle of town where it becomes Ennis Ave. It is Exit 251B for those coming south out of Dallas on IH 45. East Texas riders, State Hwy 34 becomes Ennis Ave. from your direction. If you are coming early enough to eat, we have all the usual fast-food places all on Ennis Ave, mostly near the intersection with IH 45. For a great buffet, try the Ennis Corral across from the WalMart staging area. Should anyone need service, or you get there early and just want to shop or visit for a spell, stop in at Action Powersports (Honda/Suzuki/Yamaha/Kawasaki - tire repairs on ALL makes) on the northbound service road of IH 45 beside the John Deer dealer, I work behind the parts counter. IF I can slip away, I"ll be joining you at the funeral. All of the above locations are within a five minute radius of the chapel, Ennis is pretty small and easy to get around. Should you need assistance or directions, call me at work (972) 875-2900 and ask for Rick. Ya'll ride safe and I hope to see you tomorrow.

Attention PGR Riders

This is the final itinerary for the Patriot Guard Mission to honor SPC Aaron P. Latimer, 26, Ennis Texas, who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Service: Saturday May 20,2006 at 1400 hrs at the Keever Funeral Home Chapel, 408 N. Dallas, Ennis, Texas. Internment with full military honor’s, will follow at about 1530 hrs. at the Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis Texas. (Awake and visitation will be held 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home).

Ride Captains: Bill Watkins (Starz) (469) 337-9059 and Doug Smith (Streaker) (903) 724-1528

Weather Report: Clear to partly cloudy with daytime temperature in the mid 90’s

Bring flagpoles and flags if you have them, flags mounted on bikes would be great. If you ‘cage’ it bring your flag anyway. (A large contingency of PGR is anticipated since riders heading to the Run For The Wall in Weatherford are planning to detour through Ennis)

Staging: Staging will be at the Super Wal-Mart in Ennis Texas from 1230 hrs./1300 hrs. Wal-Mart is located west of I-45 on Ennis Ave., Ennis, Texas (about half way between I-45 and Main Street also marked (Business I-45). Exit 251B from I-45 (southbound riders will turn right on Ennis Ave and north bound riders will turn left) and go about 2 blocks and Wal-mart will be located on your right (north side of the street) Ennis Ave is also marked Hwy 34 and Business 287.

Departure: All new members are requested to complete the Liability Release forms prior to safety briefing. Safety briefing will begin at 1300 hrs. Departure (KSU) for Keever Funeral Chapel at 1310 hrs. for a 10 block ride to the Chapel in staggered formation. Ennis Police department will allow us to provide our own Road Guards to control traffic from the staging area to the Chapel.

When we arrive, the Chapel parking will be marked on the west or left side of the street immediately in front of the Chapel. A wall of flags will be established to honor the family and friends of this fallen hero as they arrive for the service. We will be providing a flag escort to the cemetery (about 10 blocks) with some police escort and Road Guards will not be needed for this portion on the ride. The City Of Ennis is attempting to coordinate and provide flags along the procession route. A wall of flags will also be provided at the cemetery. Departure from the Chapel is estimated for 1500 to1515 hrs.

Remember out mission is to honor this fallen soldier and pay our respects to the family and friends. Stand tall and proud as we salute another American hero.

Any "official" marshalling points decided for DFW riders? If not, I'll be joining the crew @ 287/Sublett.  That would be a very good meet point for riders on the West side of the metro!  C'ya there.

After a discussion with Roadtrip we have decided to meet at the Hudson Oaks Wal-Mart at 1000 with KSU at 1015 heading down I20 and 287 stopping at 67/287 in Midlothian at 1130 with KSU at 1145. That would put us arriving in Ennis at about 1215...barring any unforseen stops.  I see Gary's post for a meet at 287/sublett.  Maybe we can work that in or Gary could you meet us in Midlothian?...gimme a call if you would like 817-629-9022 (cell)

All riders headed for Ennis, TX to honor Spc. Latimer on May 20th......please ride safe, and let's have a safe trip and a safer return.

A new prayer has been written by "Deacon", PGR member from Missouri.  He posted it on the forum to be used by everyone who chooses to offer it before missions.

Lord, we are humbly gathered here today before
thee as veterans, friends, brothers, sisters and family.
We ask you to watch over us on our mission as we
seek to ensure that our fellow serviceman is laid to rest
without undue interruption, and with the honor,
dignity and respect they have so rightfully earned,
and that your gentle loving hand will protect the family
of our brother and ease their pain.

We ask for a safe ride, good participation and your blessings.

Amen

I think it's a great way to start a mission, and I would like to recommend its use for any and all missions in the future.

I have to stand down for this mission.  I had forgotten about a prior commitment made to my son.

Thank you Spc. Latimer for your service.  You gave your life so my family and I can more fully enjoy ours.  This will not be forgotten.  May God share His strength with the Latimer family and help them through these tough times.

Crow,
I plan on heading down to Ennis via 287 from Northwest Fort Worth.  I say planning right now because Mama's been real sick today.  If she feels better tomorrow, I'll meet you at the Citgo at Sublett & 287 in Arlington at 1100L, as soon as I find it on the map.  If I'm not there by KSU at 1130L, press on w/o me.  R/Jim

To borrow JFK's immortal words: "Any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile... can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction, 'I served in the United States Navy.'" I did (12/81 - 3/06), and I am.

I am planning to be there, but I may hook up with you guys on the way from Houston as I am north of Houston, and it would be a backtrack to come to where you are meeting up. I may head on up to Centerville and just wait for you there, not sure.

Anyway, see you guys tomorrow.
