I have never been more proud to have served than I was when I heard yesterday that Matt was coming home.  He is being carried off that plane by his brothers and sisters who vowed "I will never leave a fallen comrade."  They honored their commitment, and I will be there from Florida when Matt returns home to his family.

There is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said by my PGR brothers and sisters who have posted here before me. My heart is heavy, my cheeks are wet. So very soon now, our brother will finally be able to rest in peace. Thank you for all you do, and for raising sons an entire nation can be proud of. I am humbled when I think of people and families like yours. I was once asked where in the world are we getting fine young people like your son Matt, and others we read about, sacrificing everything, all their tomorrows so we can have our todays. Are they a gift from God? No, I replied, they are raised on good values and a keen sense of right and wrong, then given freely by parents who love their country almost as much as they love their children. On behalf of the rest of America, Thank You.

Since I don't believe in borders, I will make every effort to be there to stand with my PGR brothers and sisters, silent but for the sound of the wind moving over my flag.

Nothing Worthwhile is ever Easy. And Nothing Easy is Ever Worthwhile.

"American Soldiers in battle don't fight for what some president says on T.V., they don't fight for mom, apple pie, or the American flag... They fight for one another." Lt General Hal Moore

For all his bluster, it is the sad problem of man that he cannot choose his triumph,
He can only choose how he will stand when the call of destiny comes,
Hoping that he’ll have the courage to answer.

My deepest condolences to Matts Family and Friends. I remember riding down from Akron,Ohio in the past to attend previouse events held in Matts Honor and when his Grandfather was laid to rest.

There was always that hope in my mind that I would soon get to ride down for his welcome home mission. Unfortunately Matt didnt come home the way many of us had wanted.

I will be there to stand for Matt and show my respects to his Family and Friends as I have in the past...

May you now rest in peace Matt, and may God keep a close hand on your Family in these tryin times...
