It was my honor to play the bagpipes for a hero like Ross who gave so much to his country and his friends in that HMMWV. It would continue to be my honor to play the pipes for Ross and his family at Arlington.

Arlington National Cemetery has some strict rules concerning numbers of people and so forth, therefore, as soon as practical we need to put some numbers together for our ANC PGR captains. AS noted earlier, Richard Getchel, will be the PA Ride Captain for this Mission and as such will be coordinating with all parties involved.
With the above in mind please send to me as well as Rich the following information. Obviously no one is obligated to attend, however, if you DO plan on attending please let us know. Include the following in your e-mail:
1. Motorcycle or cage 2. Number of people in your cage or two up on the bike. 3. Participate in escort - from Knox PA or pick up enroute. NO we do not know the route as yet.
Send to Rich at rgetch@atlanticbb.net and a copy to me at hollywood@patriotguard.org.
Thanks for your help and cooperation on this, if you have already sent me an e-mail PLEASE resend to Rich and me.
Honor and Respect

Thank you, SPC Ross McGinnis for your service to this Nation. It is because of Patriots such as you that I am able to sit here and do the things I do. The least I can do is pay homage and respect to this Hero and his family. To the family of this American Hero: We as a Nation grieve with you in the loss of one of our Nation’s best. His adherence to “Duty to God and Country” will not be forgotten. Death is a time to rejoice in the life someone had and the lives they touched on this earth. Life is but a blink of an eye. May the Great Architect take this Hero and his family into his council, protect and heal them.

Hi:
The Mission is on, Rich will be posting an itinerary in the next few days which should give anyone going time enough to make plans.
Hotel rooms in Breezewood book early so if you are planning on riding out the night before please plan your room booking early. I have blocked a group of rooms at the following:
Holiday Inn Express Breezewood PA
***Phone: 1-814-735-7666 - DATE TO START MAKING RESERVATIONS MONDAY 3/5/07***
RATE $76.00 PER NIGHT PLUS TAX
There are fifteen rooms blocked at this special rate –
** 3 Smoking Rooms are available that night.
** There are more than 12 Non-Smoking rooms, however, only 12 are guaranteed to be held at this rate.
***The close date for reservations is Thursday 3/15/2007***
When you call the hotel you must state you are calling for the Patriot Guard Riders rate. Please remember DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS UNTIL AFTER 3/5/2007, nothing will be in the computer until that date.
I figure by staying overnight in Breezewood it negates having to ride across the PA Turnpike at 0300 and allows for a good nights rest prior to the days Mission and return to home. There are other hotels in the area that may have rooms, however, this area is a BIG stopping point for tour buses and many rooms are booked long in advance.
Any questions send me an e-mail. I Hope to see many of you on this Mission to honor PFC McGinnis, his family, friends and community as he is interned at Arlington National Cemetery.

Barry....Sent you an e-mail a bit ago. Jesse and I are riding over together but I need to know where on I-70 that Park and Ride is (approximately). Just to get an idea of what time I have to leave to meet you guys.
Assume you're overnighting it @ the Holiday Inn in Breezewood, too? |

The Eat and Park is on I 70 and is the last exit on I 70 before I 70 merges with I 76. As you travel East on I 70 you will see a large UPS terminal and a Cracker Barrel on your RIGHT, EXIT there. You will need to cross over I 70 and make a turn at the light, the Eat and Park is down the service road on the left.
We should plan on meeting at the Eat and Park in time for a 4:00PM departure, I plan on being there on two wheels. Watch the weather, if it is forcasted and or is bad I will cage it.

I realize that this is late notice for some but if people need housing in the Breezewood area I can help with free overnight housing. I live in Altoona which is about 25 - 30 minutes from Breezewood. Route 220/99 is 3/10's of a mile from my house, I can see it out my front window. Here's the offer, I can put 3 at my house and/or a whole bunch next door at the church. The drawback at the church is that there is no shower just four large bathrooms. Sleeping arrangements at the church would be sofa's and cots, bedding will be provided. A full kitchen on premises and many resturaunts are very close. The church is over 65,000 square feet with over 70 rooms so we could accomodate quite a few. Bikes can be parked inside the gym.

I'm taking Friday the 23rd off as a day of vacation. I can think of NO better way to spend my vacation than honoring the heroes that allow me to live free and enjoy them. From this string, I gather the route to ANC will travel Eastward on I70 from BREEZEWOOD. Could you post the entire planned route from Breezewood so that I can guestimate where my best rendezvous point from Columbia, MD would be to join the procession?
