I'll be there. Just a reminder to those jumping to the end of this thread... it's mentioned above that friends and family might start arriving at 10:30 at the church, so we need to be there NO LATER THAN 10:15 to get kickstands down, helmets off, etc., *and* get the flag line set up in time!

Another successful mission. About 75 bikes and 5 or 6 cages by my count. Family (both relatives and Marines) very grateful; our debrief was a Marine officer giving his thanks to all.
Appreciate the out of town riders who came to honor (and who brought flags!)
Many pictures were taken, hopefully we'll see some here. |

| This was my first mission but it won't be my last. This was a memorable experience to see so many riders from so far away come togerther to honor this fallen Marine and pay respects to his family. The debriefing by the Lt Colonel brought me to tears and I came to realize how much this means to the families and to the brave men and women in the armed forces. God Bless you Lance Corporal Luke Holler. |

There were a lot of great memories today --- one of my favorite's was meeting 82-year old Mr. Jimmy Johnston, a former Marine and WWII Veteran.
Mr. Johnston was an aviator in WWII, and proudly showed my a picture of himself in his flight uniform from 1944. This Veteran --- of what has been called the "Greatest Generation" took time on Veteran's Day to come and pay tribute to the next "Great Generation".

Yet another exhausting day that ended with feelings of great satisfaction. Legacy and BexarWolf made it home, somewhat sunburned (note to self: remember to take a ball cap) but totally content.
We paid tribute to another Fallen Texas Hero on what to me is one of the most special days of the year.....Veteran's Day. This is a day that should be as special in peoples' hearts as Christmas. Despite my missed turn, we arrived in time to meet with the members who had already gathered and got to see the Houston group pull in. After getting in the flag line and shaking hands with what had to be 30 Marines, including the Lt. Colonel, I was speechless.
The services at the cemetery included everything that moves me to tears. A flyover, bugler playing Taps, bagpipes playing Amazing Grace and the Marine song and surrounded by people I so dearly hold close to my heart.
BigShell, you did a fantastic job throwing this together with about 36 hours notice (if that much). Thank you to everyone who made the trip, especially George Ulloa, Sr. His son was our Mission in Austin on August 3rd and he is now a member of the PGR.
God bless our troops, God bless America and God bless the Patriot Guard Riders. |

We laid to rest another of our finest today. We ask that God place his loving arms around LCPL Holler's family and comfort them in this hour of darkness. I know that Luke is already standing tall in His Corps and, as promised, guarding the streets of Heaven.
Our brothers and sisters in the PGR again demonstrated that they will be there to support the family and pay respect to the fallen warrior. It was a beautiful day to celebrate the freedoms granted us by our veterans, many of whom were there to give final honors to their comrad.
Semper Fi, LCPL Holler, you may stand down, we have the watch. |

What an awesome way to say thank you to LCPL Holler! I can't put in words how it felt to be a part of that today. It was a long, cold ride from the bay but worth every minute of it.
Thank you for your service, LCPL Holler. May God be with your family. |

| Well, another mission completed and well done on all parties part. It was my honor to once again ride with this fine organization to honor one of our fallen heros.
Today was a special day on which to honor such a hero as well. On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, in 1918, The Great War, or, The War To End All Wars, was pronounced ended. Of course, as we know today, the end of the First World War did not end all wars, but it did bring to an end the worst and most deadly war up to that time. Originallly named "Armistice Day", it was changed to Veterans Day after WWII. Thank you to all those PGR members who shook my hand and wished me Happy Veterans Day. It meant a lot.
Until we ride again.

As I was in the wedding for an Iraq Veteran, I was not able to attend this mission. I am VERY IMPRESSED with the huge turnout not only from the greater San Antonio area, but also from Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Austin and other areas. THANK YOU Brothers and Sisters for your support!!! Later this week, we will be doing this again for Cpl. Jose Galvan of San Antonio. I hope we can have a similar turnout. I WILL be on that mission.

I just wanted to take a second to say that yesterday's mission for Lance Cpl. Luke B. Holler, and his family was the most awe inspiring, and humbling time in my life that I have ever experienced. I knew nothing of the PGR until Friday, and saw that this family was in need on the same day that I joined the group. I joined up and road with what I consider to be the most compassionate group of people that I have met in years.
I have never been moved as I was yesterday, and now find myself to be extremely motivated for this great cause.
To the Holler Family, may Peace be with you.
