May the Allmighty hold Brian's family and friends in the palms of His hands and ease their pain at their loss. Please believe that you are not alone in feeling that a part of you is gone. We ride to honor Brian and to show that you are not, and will never be alone. Brian is in the position of Honor at the Allmighty's right hand which he has earned. Pete
Doc, I don't go off duty until 0700 so I might have to catch up on the road. I'm trying to work things out to meet up in Lenexa. Will advise later.
Stretch -N - Ruffy, Will be good to see you again but could hope for better circumstances. Ruffy, Make him stretch during the trip, don't want him to lock up when you get there:o. |

Motels? I'm riding up from Sullivan, MO on Friday and looking for a reasonably priced (cheap) motel to stay at in Saint Joseph. Does anyone have a handle on accommodations in St. Joe?

Posted By Arch Angel on 07/02/2006 11:22 AM At last, I think I figured out how to do links? For a motel try Days Inn or Motel 6 - - They both have a motel at Exit 47 on I 29, (on Frederick Ave) which is near the staging area. (A lot of motels are in that area) They both have 800 numbers and web sites which will give you room rates, etc. If the route to the cemetery is going to go up Hwy 36 you could try to get something in Elwood, KS, which is on the West side of St. Joe on Hwy 36, or you could try Troy, KS, which is also on Hwy 36, but closer to White Cloud, they might have cheaper rates, but maybe not. I do not have an updated phone book or I would look something up for ya. Also:
Super 8 Motel (No rates for St. Joe on web site)
4024 Frederick Blvd Saint Joseph, MO 64506 (816) 364-3031
Ditto that ....... Arch Angel is correct. There are at least three motels right there at I-29 and Frederick Avenue that would be reasonable for you. These hotels are only a mile from the staging place, too. Just go about a mile east on Frederick Avenue and you're at the American Legion building (the staging place). Straight shot for sure. I'd stay at one of these motels that Arch Angel mentioned.

Doc,
I have just cleared my schedule for this mission. I will be able to make the ride with you and the rest of the Kansas City Group. Do we have any more riders that are leaving from the east side of the KC area that I can group up with?

Anyone heading to Kirksville, Mo. after this mission, for the Pfc. Rex Page mission, is more than welcome to follow me back. I'll do my best to show you around, so you have an idea about where to go, when we get back. Just let me know when you see me at this misson. I shouldn't be to hard to find, I'll probably be to only one on a Red Victory Sport Cruiser (see my avatar).

Usually when we are heading north for a mission we use the Quick Trip/Mc Donalds at the first Platte City exit as the rally point for staging. I believe we are staging there at 0800 at the very latest since the mission has been moved up two hours. Stay tuned for more information...

Posted By stretchnit on 07/01/2006 9:11 AM Doc. Count on Stretchnit / Ruffy to be on this mission. I'll try to catch up with you at the McDonalds. ( I-435 & 87th St.) I'll be driving a Dk. Blue 2000 Dodge 4x4. I'll also be bringing 70 flags for this mission. I have more they just aren't on poles yet. If I can get a few more done I'll bring them. See you then.
Stretch We really appreciate you bringing all of those flags, stretchnit. Seeing a large number of the same size flags will be very impressive and will help us show our support for our fallen hero even more. God bless you, stretchnit for helping out and doing this. You are a true "Patriot Guard Rider'. Will be honored to stand with you at this mission, sir.

So we're talking 144 flags all together. We are still working on getting them on poles. They'll be done by the weekend. It'll be impressive alright. The flags themselves were donated by the Bone Creek Gun Club. And all poles were donated by Everything Sew Sew. I hope we can have a lot at Kirksville also. I also look forward to standing with you all. Well I'll probably actually be in my wheelchair most of the time. (Double Knee Replacement).
