Our thoughts and prayers are for the family of SSGT Lybert. Thank you for your service to our country.
I will be on vacation and unable to ride to the funeral, but will be riding in spirit. |
|
It's not neccessarily the conditions you ride in, but how much you've prepared yourself to ride safely in them that will make a difference.

Attention Mankato MN Sector
This is a Wisconsin mission but anyone wanting to attend this mission, the Mankato Sector will will be staging at the Mankato Harley Davidson and riding to Lindstrom, MN to meet up with the rest of the Minnesota PGR who will be attending the funeral. This will be an all day event. Dress appropriately for the weather, use sunscreen and pack Rain Gear. Please remember to bring water and food with you. We must be self-sufficient.
4:50am - We will stage at Mankato Harley Davidson parking lot at 4:50am.
5:15am - We must depart no later than 5:15am traveling North on US 169.
At I-494 we will go ENE and follow that to I-35E and go North. Taking I-35E North to I-35 North and take that till it runs into US 8 East. Taking US 8 East to Lindstrom, MN arriving there at 7:45am where we meet up with the rest of the Minnesota PGR Group.
We will stop for gas just south of Shakopee, MN for 15 minutes. My bike won't allow me to ride all the way to Lindstrom without stopping for fuel, plus I need to stretch my legs and use the restroom.
** Lindstrom Stage Area **
PLACE We will gather at Wally Carlson & Sons BP station at 13261 St. Croix Ave. in the paved lot immediately east of the station. The station is located on the south side of Highway 8, in Lindstrom, between Broadway Street and Ackerson Street (about one block east of the Dairy Queen). It's actually on the frontage road, but, easily seen from Highway 8. Fuel is available.
8:00am - Leave Lindstrom, MN for Ladysmith, WI no later than 8:00am. 9:45am - Arrive in Ladysmith, WI
Total mileage - 210.3 miles Total ride time - 4 hours 15 minutes
Again this is a Wisconsin mission but anyone is welcome to attend. If you're not up to riding 210.3 miles and/or 4 hours 15 minutes on your bike, please pass on it or "cage" it. You're safety is the most important thing.
Thank you,
George |

I'm coming from Green Bay and will be meeting 2 other riders in Shawano. We could meet you at the gas station on 107 & 29. We are meeting in Shawano around 6:00 am and that should put us in Marathon around 7:15 - 7:30 am. That will be a good gas stop for us too.

I had to borrow a bike, but I will be able to ride on Monday. I have talked with Tom Weller and I will be coordinating a group out of Rochester as follows:
4:40 a.m. Meet at Wal-Mart North Parking Lot (by Culvers) to sign releases.
4:55 a.m. Depart for Mendota Heights (approx 75 miles) Via Hwy 52 North, Hwy 55 North, Dodd Road North, I-494 West, I-35 North, Hwy 13 East ¼ mile, to Moose Country Bar and Grill on North side of road. (Fuel is available at the exit for those with peanut tanks.)
6:20 a.m. Meet up with Ted (MN PGR), Doc Bohlman, and anyone else from the south metro at Moose Country Bar & Grill. If timing allows and George Winslow and the Mankato PGR would like to meet us here, that would be great!
6:30 a.m. Head out from Mendota Heights to Lindstrom (approx 42 miles) Up I-35E to I-35, Exit 132 to US-8 to Lindstrom.
7:15 a.m. Meet MN PGR at the Wally Carlson & Sons BP station at 13261 St. Croix Ave. in the paved lot immediately east of the station. This is a chance to fuel up, use the head, coffee, stretch, etc.
8:00 a.m. Depart Lindstrom, MN
9:45 a.m. Arrive in Ladysmith, WI
Please be aware that this is 210 miles each way, so please plan accordingly with cold, warm and wet riding attire. Also as a reminder, we must be self-sufficient, so bring plenty of water, food, and sunscreen for the day!
And don’t forget the 3’x5’ Stars & Bars.
Thank a Soldier, Ride Safe, Ride Free

| Is there anyone coming for the wake Sunday afternoon. I know there there is going to be a group of PGR's there for that. (Jimmy Boy Group) I talked to Terry (step father of Pat Lybert) yesterday and he said we were welcome there too. I know Russ L. from Elk River MN will be here for the wake, since in the area already, he stopped in this morning. My wife contacted Jimmy Boy to find out what time they were going to be there. The wake is from 4:00 pm - 8:00pm, guess they plan on being there a little before that, if anyone is already up you are welcome to join. |

Hello, I am SSG Patrick L. Lybert's Mom. Just wanted to help George (gwinslow) out by explaining our hold up in confirming dates was because there was no assurance of return date of my son from Afghanistan. Not until confirmation came via our Casualty Assist Officer that he had bee nreleased from Dover and was headed to the airport in the Twin Cities could we release dates, times. We are so blessed though as the soldier he had served with in Iraq, was also with him in Afghanistan. His men, and this devoted soldier and friend campained to get him home to us earlier then we were orginally told to expect. Thank you to each of you for the tributes you offer in postings and ride. Sincerely, Cheryl L. Nussberger |
