IF the Monday service is confirmed, there should be about 5 of us riding down from the Big Lake-Monti, Mn area.  We'll leave Big Lake at 0400 hours, to make the staging area on time, and have time for a couple of fuel/stretch stops.  We'll be travelling Hwy. 25 to Wright County 37 to Hwy. 15 to Hwy. 19 to Redwood Falls.  Anybody that wants to set up meeting points along the way, please call or email me at the address below.

Anybody that is planning on attending and needs a place to shower and "crash", let me know, at djr71@izoom.net, or 763-263-6723 (H), or 763-639-6723 (C),  or 1-888-765-9439 (Toll free), and leave a message.

I have pillows, blankets, floor space, showers, concrete driveway, etc.

My sincere condolences to all who mourn Spc. Koch; I will be there to stand in honor of him and his sacrifice to our country.

At a recent mission in Welcome, MN, I was asked by a few members about some help for our disabled veterans in attendance who may need some assistance when attending future missions. If you spoke with me, or know someone who might need assistance at this upcoming mission, please contact me at mn.pgr.ssc@gmail.com.

Just for my own clarity here, the news release says that Spc. (Sgt?) Koch is from Morton, MN, and the services are said to be in Morgan, MN. Is this correct?

Attention Mankato MN Sector

Arrival at Staging area is between 5:15 and 5:35. Make sure you are fully gassed up and ready to roll no later than 535am. We will not be stopping for gas or rest stops along the way. If you are not prepared to ride for 1 hour and 40 minutes without a break, pass on this mission or ride in a "cage". We will have two long rides this day and it will be a very long mission, we will not be returning home until near dinnertime so if you're not up to the task, please pass on this mission, ride in a "cage" or plan on plan on just attending the funeral. Your safety is of the utmost importance.

Dress appropriately for the weather forecast, and carry rain gear. Again this will be a long mission and we will not return until dinnertime. Bring lots of water to drink. Also bring a sack lunch. We will be in small towns and not much opportunity to purchase water and/or food. We MUST be self-sufficient.

PART ONE OF THE MISSION

1. 5:15-5:35am - We will stage at Mankato Harley Davidson, 1200 North River Drive in Mankato. (Just off Hwy 14 and on Hwy 169). Ride Briefing will be at 5:40am.

2. 5:50am - We will depart Mankato HD and get on Hwy 14 and travel Westbound.

3. Turn onto Hwy 4 and travel Northbound.

4. Turn onto Hwy 68 and travel NorthWest.

5. Hwy 68 turns into Hwy 67 at Morgan, MN.

6. Continue NorthWest Bound on Hwy 67.

7. Turn North onto Hwy 71 in Redwood Falls, MN.

8. Stop and gas up at SA gas station, it has 92 octane fuel, or Cenex gas station in front of Walmart which only has 89 octane fuel.

9. Continue on to Walmart, turn in and go to South DeKalb St.

10. Turn East onto East Cook St and take that to the Redwood Area Community Center 901 E. Cook St, next to Walmart.

11. 7:30am - Arrival at Redwood Area Community Center. This is where we will be holding the final staging for the mission.

Ride Briefing will be at 8:10am so we plan to arrive by 7:30 at the latest, giving us time to then gas up the motorcycles prior to briefing. We must have FULL TANKS OF GAS prior to leaving Redwood Falls. We will not be making any stops for fuel along the way or rest stops.

Total ride time 1 hour, 40 minutes.
Total miles 68.79 miles.

PART TWO OF THE MISSION

After Ride Briefing at 8:10am return to your bikes.

1. 8:30am - Leave Staging area for Morgan, MN. Approximately 13 miles from Redwood Falls to Morgan. We will have a police escort. Use standard staggered riding formation. If you’re not comfortable with riding in formation, please go to the rear of the pack and ride along after us at your own pace and comfort level.

2. 9:00am - Arrive at Cedar Mountain High School, Morgan, MN. Assemble flags and stand guard.

3. 10:00am – Funeral Services begin.

4. 11:00am - Funeral services conclude. PRG will stand guard until the reception starts in the high school.

5. 11:05am – There will be a short reception for the service attendees. During this time, we will take down and secure our flags, and prepare to ride to the cemetery.

PART THREE OF THE MISSION

1. 11:30am (est.) - PGR members who are able and willing to accompany the funeral procession to the town of Trimont, MN to attend the grave side services. This is approximately a 54 mile ride with full police escort. Trimont is 6 miles North of Sherburn, MN and I-90.

2. 1:00pm (est.) - Arrive at the cemetery in Trimont, MN. PGR will park near the cemetery on CR 36 in the Westbound lane, quickly assemble flags, and stand guard over the internment services.

3. 2:00pm (est.) - The formal mission is complete when the internment services are completed.

As with all PGR missions, be prepared to be self sufficient for the day. Bring FOOD and WATER, dress for the conditions, and ride safely.

Just to clearify somethings.

If you wish to drive your "cage" (car or truck) to the mission, you are more than welcome to do so. This will be a long day.

If at all possible bring a 3x5 foot American flag and pole with you. If you don't have one and want to purchase one, they can be found at most large stores, ie: Walmart, Target, Kmart, Walgreens, Menards just to name a few. These are the same flag I fly on my front porch. They cost anywhere from $9-$20 depending on where you purchase them.

Most of us will be arriving via motorcycle and will dress accordingly. I personally will be wearing: jeans; leather chaps, jacket, and vest; a t-shirt; along with my PGR Ride Captain maroon baseball cap. Wear whatever makes you comfortable, but remember there will be children and family present so please refrain from anything that I would have to explain to my 4 year old granddaughter and/oir 8 year old grandson.

Thank you and hope to see you at the Redwood Area Community Center, 901 South Cook St, Redwood Falls, MN for the staging briefing held at 8:10am.
