Seems like several new members have responded to this thread. Most important besides bringing yourself is to bring a 3x5 American flag on a pole. You will use it when you dismount so don't worry about mounting it on your bike or anything.

If you don't have one already, head to Wal-mart and pick up their $10 3x5 American flag set. It contains a 3 part pole which will fit in Harley saddle bags. Rig up the ropes before you leave because it takes some time to tie it up correctly. Their $25 flag is nicer but the $10 flag blows in the breeze better since it's lighter.

Looks like this one may fall while I am out of town. I'm thanking you new PGR guys for taking up my slack. God bless Spc Latimer and his family.

ALCON,

Funeral services for SPC Latimer will be held at 1400 hours on Saturday, 20 May 2006 in Ennis, Texas at Keever Chapel (408 North Dallas, Ennis, Texas).

I am assuming the staging time is at 1300 hours somewhere in/near Ennis. The staging location has not been set at this time, so I am only providing a plan to arrive in Ennis, Texas at 1300 hours. We will ride from Waco Harley Davidson (4201 Jack Kultgen Parkway, Waco, Texas) as a group.

I have a ride matrix that will enable us all to meet in Waco from all points of the Centex area. If you do not receive an email and wish to view the matrix, email me and I will send it out to you:

Note that persons riding from the Lampasas area will consolidate with Killeen/Copperas Cove/Fort Hood at Kay's Motorcycle Mania in Nolanville, Texas. From there, those riders will consolidate with Temple/Belton/Salado in Belton and then all will consolidate in Waco. Gatesville will ride directly to Waco Harley Davidson.

I hope we have a good turn-out for this mission. Everyone ride safe and bring your 3' x 5' flags & poles for the mission.

Standing by in Friendswood.

Leaving Houston Saturday morning -- to honor Spc Aaron Latimer,
in Ennis, Texas. May God be with the Latimer family; your pain is
shared by many and we will be standing with you during this difficult
time. We all want to thank Aaron for his service and his sacrifice; we
want to honor him and pay our respects to him -- we will not forget.

Will be leaving Ennis for Weatherford and will be joining the RFTW riders
on Sunday morning -- riding through Ft. Worth and Dallas and we will be
leaving the group in Longview, Texas -- to head back to Houston Sunday
afternoon. You must look-up to the RFTW core riders that left Los Angeles
last week and are headed toward Washington D.C. The least that we can
do, is to be there to support and encourage them. Click here for RFTW info.

Attention PGR Riders

Additional information for this mission

We have a confirmed mission for SPC Aaron P. Latimer of Ennis Texas

Services are at Keever Funeral Chapel 408 North Dallas in Ennis Texas at 2:00 PM Saturday May 20,2006

Staging will be at the Super Wal-Mart on Ennis Ave. in Ennis Texas. The Wal Mart store is 1 block west off of I-45.

If you are coming in on I-45 from the north take exit 251B and go to the light which will be Ennis Ave. you will turn right at the light and go about 1 block and turn right into Wal Mart parking lot.

We will set up a wall of flags across the street from the Keever Funeral Chapel at 1:30 Pm to honor the arrival of family and friends. After the chapel service we will also provide a flag escort to the cemetery and provide a wall of flags to the cemetery services. Fortunately for us the parking area is covered by massive trees, some reprieve from the heat.

Ennis Police Department has given us their blessings and will allow us to arrive in a single procession so we will need several road guards to control intersection for the short trip to the funeral home.

Bring your flags and prayers for this family and friends of this fallen Hero

Never forget our purpose TO HONOR AND RESPECT OUR FALLEN HEROS AND FAMILY

Should be there barring any unforseen incidents. Since this will be my first mission, open to suggestions. Looking for inputs on dress code, etc. In BluHog's e-mail, he mentioned "all bikes will present a uniform appearance". Are we talking about the display of flags or what? Like I said, first mission and want to present a good appearance for the family and service member.

Thanks,

Bill

May 20th, Mom, this weekend.

Stuffer, normal riding gear is fine.  We all try to keep 3 X 5 American flags handy while we're dismounted to create the "wall of flags" which is such a great backdrop for the church and cemetery.

The simple $10 kit at Walmart is great.  It breaks down and fits in most saddlebags.  There are more expensive flags out there, but the cheap one is light and flies better in the breeze.
