I had the honor of being in the flag line 1-14-07 for the hero, USAF Senor Airman Daniel Miller. The citizens of north central Illinois were inspiring. School band, choir, standing with respect. The PGR cadre did a fine job. My deepest regards to the family and friends of a fellow airman.

I had the priveledge of chatting briefly with the poster above
(Border Star) before we set up the flag line to honor our Hero
Senior Airman Daniel B. Miller on Sunday. What he didn't mention
in his post is that he came all the the way up from Missouri to pay
his respects to Daniel and his loved ones. This shows the dediication
to this organization that we can all be proud of.

THANKS RALPH

A Soldier's Prayer
(author unknown)

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Ride Report;;
To the family of Daniel Miller Jr. Thank You so much for allowing us to HONOR your HEROand OURS. After having talked with many family and friends over this past week. I feel I have known Danny for a long time. He was very proud but Humble about his service to our great Counrty. Rest assured he NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
Thank You Danny, soar with the angels, we have it in hand here.

PGR; Great job people without all this support I could not do the job I do. You people are the ones to make it happen, everyone is always willing to step and do what needs to be done. The escort went well from Airport, except the plane was an HOUR EARLY. What a public outpouring of Support and HONOR. The Honor Guard was explempliary, The help from Monmouth Firefighter Honor Guard, with our people, went very well.
Visitation, I had to be out of town and Max, Nailer, handled this as always in very Repectful and Honorable way. Thanks again people for you people we need everyone. It was cold, and got colder The Honor Guard at the church was Handled with help from AmVets. Thanks guys for stepping up to help. Also a donation from Walmart of at least three boxes of Hand warmers was very much appeciated. The church had a room set up with warm drinks and HEAT.
Wed; started with a preride briefing at Walmart which had coffee and warm restrooms for us to use. Had a good turnout, briefing went well with escort from there to church. Set our flagline, and withstood the cold, as the service started, we broke ranks and sent several people ahead to cematary to attach flags, then stand down and keep warm till we left church.
As the service was over we reassemble our modest flagline, then departed to cemetary. we had a flying escort all the way, from to small planes. That continued to follow us to cemetary. I had predetermined that only 5 big flag cages would be in escort. When we arrived what a site apprx.60 flags on the fence and a double flag line at the entrance, with also Legion and V.F.W. and Air Force personel. Great Job to all, people as I said without all your support we cannot do what we do. And trust me when I say everyone is watching so keep up the great work. I wish I could name everyone who had a hand in this mission, but I would leave some one out. So thanks people. Max, Nailer thanks for taking over the visitation.
Thanks to Ms. Country and  Country for providing a place to stand down and keep warm, You will never know how much that is appreciated

All I need to say is FANTASTIC JOB, FOLKS. This entire mission went off well, and all bases were covered honorably by all our members. Thank You for being there to support this fine young man and his family. Hope you all thawed out quickly.

Much thanks to the folks at Bethel Baptist Church who open their doors to all families, regardless of denomination, in their times of grief. Thanks aplenty for providing us with hot coffee and a place to warm up during this mission. Also, many thanks to the folks at Wal-Mart who make a special effort for us at every mission in Galesburg. And another to Country and Ms. Country for providing coffee and a place to warm up prior to the interment.

We honored the memory of Senior Airman Dan Miller.  It was cold.  Patriot Guard was showered with snowflakes that landed on my coat had beautiful artwork from Heaven.

I hope he felt our feelings for his ultimate sacrifice.  I returned to the church to give my condolence card to the family.  I met his dad, his step mom, Shari, and his sister Lucy briefly.  Shari told me she was more afraid when Tim deployed than Dan.  He was smart and highly skilled--leading her to feel less afraid while he was gone.  Meeting his father was a speechless moment but we said so much just holding hands.  He was top 10 in his EOD class.  We lost a good one.
