With great sorrow I will attend a mission for yet another American Hero who has made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. I will proudly stand beside our brothers and sisters from Wisconsin in honoring SPC. Kenneth Cross.
For Minnesota riders coming from the Metro or any points further South:
We will be staging at Saint Paul Harley Davidson at 0600, stands up and rolling at 0630. SPHD is located on Hudson Blvd, just north and east of I-94 & Century Ave/MN-120.
We will then proceed north to meet up with any other metro or southern riders in Rush City at the Holiday Station off of exit 159 from I-35. Stands up from there at 0800 and proceeding directly to the final staging area in Superior.
Thank you to each and everyone of you for stepping up to Do The Right Thing. |

It was an honor to ride with a couple dozen local members late last night when the family asked at the last minute whether we could provide an escort of Spec. Cross's body from the Duluth airport to the funeral home in Superior. I don't know how they organized it so quickly, but several local law enforcement agencies managed to have just about every intersection blocked off for us and were very respectful as we rode through. The Cross family was very gracious and appreciative and I was humbled.
Standing by with a heavy heart in Duluth for the mission on Saturday. |

First post ever, so sorry if I botch it up.
I had the distinct privilege to ride with a couple dozen riders last night while escorting Spc Cross back home. I exposed a lot of suppressed emotions during our silent tour. I would like to thank Spc Cross’s family for allowing us the opportunity to honor their son. My God be with you and in you’re hearts at this time. I’m so sorry for you’re loss. The world is a little poorer with out him. He must have been raised with strong morals and values. And a very courageous man to defend those principals. Let his memory inspire others to live moral, right, and just. To Ms. Cross, I can’t even begin to empathize. I’m so sorry for the untimely loss of you’re husband. And finally, to Spc Cross, Thank you for what you have done. Welcome home. There’s a place waiting for you up there. Job well done.

Also, many general mission questions can be answered on the site’s FAQ area. Please read!

Helpful Tips & Hints: For the Ride Sign Waiver ASAP upon arrival so you don’t hold up departure time Staggered Formation, 1 sec / 2 sec window Steady Throttle Watch for Road Guards and give them room to re-enter formation
At the Mission We are here to RESPECT above everything else. Turn Off Cell Phones & Pagers. Be tactful when taking pictures. Just remember, would it be appropriate at your funeral? Do Not leave during ceremonies. Wait or get a push away and be aware of throttle * (edited by wescoot2) Turn Back and ignore, PERIOD Allow 4’ spacing between flags for uniform appearance and so you don’t whip your neighbor Do not dip the American Flag
Be flexible as things change, work with it. And if you have a question, ask a ride captain.
Be sure to bring plenty of water, something to eat, and appropriate riding gear for the weather forecast. Also bring a 3x5 foot flag and pole (if at all possible).

NW Metro group..... notice for the Spc Cross - Superior, WI - Sept 9, 2006
Dave and Alena Hunter will lead the NW Metro group from Anoka to Rush City if you choose to meet them. I am going to Pelican Rapids for SSG Hanson's services.
You can meet them at the Super America station at 750 Main St. in Anoka. The SA is off of the south side of Hwy 10 between Thurston Avenue and Fairoaks Avenue. The station sits between Culvers and McDonalds. Please meet them at 6:15 and be ready to leave at 6:30 giving yourself time to fill out waivers and gas up. They will head out on Hwy 10 west, to 35W north and meet up with the Rush City group. The ride is approximately 1 hour.
You can also choose to also go directly to Rush City if it is more convenient but please use the post by JD as your guide for time and arrive by 7:30am.
Ride safe and my thanks to the Hunter's for helping out! |

NW Metro Group - Saturday Superior staging
Happy to help Doug - you ride safe!
Just an FYI for anyone coming up from the south on 169 to meet Dave and I at SA. If you follow 169 north to Anoka, continue through the intersection at Main (don't follow 169 to the left), the road turns into Hwy 47/Ferry Street. Follow Ferry about 1-2 miles to Hwy 10. Go West on 10, and follow that to Fairoaks Avenue (about 1 mile). When on Hwy 10, you'll pass a Perkins off to your right, and Fairoaks is the next light. Take a left and then an immediate right and you will be on the frontage road. SA is just past McDonald's on the left.
Again, were staging at 6:15, leaving for Rush City at 6:30 , and will have waivers.
Hope you can join us for this mission!

express the regard I have for you. My thoughts and prayers are with

I regret that I am unable to attend, as I will be in Pelican Rapids for
another mission. However, some very close friends of mine will be riding to Superior,
and part of me rides with them.
