My sincere condolences for a brother Marine and a fellow Marine officer. Standing by in Hazlet.

"Lord, lest I go about in my complacent way,
Remind me that somewhere out there,
A man might have died for me today.
So if there must be war,
Let me ask and answer,
Am I worth dying for?

******************STAGING INFORMATION FOR SATURDAY******************

I. PART ONE

We will be Staging at the Crown Plaza Philadelphia, 2349 West Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill, for the first part of the mission on Saturday morning, the services for LT. Mann at 1000, to be held at Cooper River War Memorial. Although the official address for the hotel is on West Marlton Pike, the parking lot we will be staging in is actually located on North Park Drive, about 100 feet east of the intersection of Cuthbert Boulevard and North Park Drive.

Pre-mission meeting @ 0915
KSU @ 0930

**The plan is for Mrs. Alfina Mann, 1LT Mann's mom, and Shannon Mann, his wife, to join us at the Staging area. We will be escorting them to the Cooper River War Memorial for the morning services.

II. PART TWO

We will be creating a flag line at 1300 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 409 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn, NJ. The parking at the church is very limited, so I have arranged for us to park behind the 7-eleven, which is directly across the street from the church. The parking lot we will be using can be accessed from Clinton Avenue. If there is a need for more parking, we can use the lot behind the Municipal Building which is opposite the 7-eleven lot. All riders should be at the parking area by 1230 so that we can get across the street to set the flag line by 1240.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of 1st Lt. Jason D. Mann,Thanks for being one of our greatest heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.

We salute you , My Friend

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now,soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."

I may have to stand in spirit friends. Bless you all.

Usually at a time like this I struggle for words to comfort a friend who has suffered a loss. The right words don’t often come, but if accompanied by the right sentiment they can be soothing. But I have learned over time that the best comfort at a time like this comes from those who watch over us. My beliefs allow me to be comforted by a certainty that I am watched over by those who have gone before me.

**********************MISSION ACCOMPLISHED*************************

On a very humid, warm day that started with the threat of bad weather, but that turned out to not be so bad after all, the NJ PGR came out and honored another of America's sons. I continue to struggle with the different perspectives these missions afford depending on participation level. The thing I remember is that when I was a member, I had a view quite different than that of today. I continue to wrestle with the fact that, as State Captain, I spend more than a few hours communicating with the family, organizers, and so on for each mission. I have seen first hand the affect that we have on the families of these heroes. I wish I could take all of our members with me inside a church after a service such as this to see absolutely the profound affect we have had. The family wanted to convey their love and admiration for our efforts in honoring 1LT. Jason D. Mann. On the worst day of their lives, they found out that their family had quite a few more members than they knew. Thank you to all my PGR brothers and Sisters who helped this family through another tough day. At the end of the day, Mission Accomplished.
