Riders, I sure do thank you for your patience and dedication.

The return of Cpl. Guzman to his family marks the tenth such "Fallen Soldier Flight" [two Marines and eight soldiers] into AirFlite since February 2007. We at AirFlite are humbly honored that these flights come to our facility and strive to do everything in our power to make these somber moments as private, dignified, and respectful as possible.

I regret that I was not able to be on hand for the arrival as I have handled all previous flights except the first one back in February of last year -- believe me I take these flights personally just ask anyone at AirFlite. This flight was not typical of Kalitta . Normally, there has been no delays to speak of and we have been able to track flight progress. I stayed as long as could but my wife had a prenatal appointment at 1600 down in Fountain Valley and I eventually had to leave. I did see you all and the precession while the wife and I were north bound [returning] on the 405 passing Palos Verdes exit. You all looked outstanding!

Please if anyone could let me know if everything went smoothly on our [AirFlite's] side of this, I would sure appreciate the feed back. Thank you.

P.S. Where do you all get red dog tags that some of your fellow riders were handing out to family and to the Marine honor guard? I've been wanting to do something like that with the names of the now ten fallen warriors that have passed through AirFlite -- to remember them.

~Rest in peace Cpl. Miguel Guzman you're home now.

Sincerely,
Clint Vallee

Clint,

Thanks so much for your timely updates and the committment you've shown to our Fallen.
The dogtags are sold by the Ride Captains at the rendezvous. You were certainly welcome to get one.

If you could remember the names of the previous heroes that went through your doors, there is a way to get those tags, too. I'll let the Gunny give you the right scoop (info).

Another significant part of this mission was the outstanding work of our funeral escorts. They really took charge of the traffic and kept us safe. Thanks to you, too.

Keep up the great work.

Renato G. Villacorte

After a long flight delay 38 PGR members welcomed home CPL Guzman. Following a very emotional flag line the PGR mounted their machines and set off the escort Miguel to Rose Hills through LA Rush hour traffic. The escorts did an outstanding job of guiding us to our destination safely. Upon arrival at Rose Hills the PGR was dismissed.
I wish to thank the efforts of Clint from Air Flite for keeping us up to date on Cpl Guzman's arrival time..

Mr. Ragsdale,

Thank you for sharing the photos - they're great. I've always wanted to share with my dad (3rd Marines, Vietnam) who lives in Montana, how and what goes on with one of these flights, but I'm always there in the thick of it. Thanks!

Sincerely,

Clint, thanks again for the invaluable info you provided for us yesterday. You and your organization made things easy for us. Thank you also for what I saw support and compassion for Cpl. Guzman's grieving family.
I also would like to thank the Road Officers that safely took us and especially Miguel's family to Rose Hills in an rush hour environment that could have been very challenging. Great job!

To Miguel's family, thank you for allowing us to honor your son. Our prayers are with you in these grave times. This free American will NEVER FORGET your service and sacrifice...God bless you all.

Not a problem Clint, - Call me Jim... And thank you for your services to our young men and women... Too many are dying on the battle field, and not enough attention to them is given... My Perspective... Phase 2 is complete - Great turn out - LA County Sheriff's Dept was represented as was a good number of Marines, not just the Honor Guard. See the link for complete pictures... It was an honor for my mother and I to stand for Cpl. Guzman today. I was struck by the fact that even though there was a language barrier,as Taps was played, there was not a dry eye amongst the family. I guess everyone knows the strains of that heartfelt tune. It was a beautiful gesture when they released 22 white doves in Cpl. Guzman's honor. Thanks to all of you for your inquiries about Channer's, and my, well-being. You guys and gals are so sweet and mindful...it is an honor to know you. Much love..The Peace Princess,Mom, and Hallie (cocker spaniel)the newest PGR member! Don't worry, she's only half liberal!!!
