At least two of us from Central Nebraska are headed up either Sunday evening, probably staying in Yankton or leaving about 5am Monday.  Stormin', are you still headed that way?  Where are you located?  We will go up either 281 or 30 to 81.  let us know your route and schedule as we would love to ride together if possible.

Anybody from KS or points south coming thru?  If so, please post route and schedule.

My email is open, and I will be happy to share my cell# at your request.

Mike,  wish I could ride with you, but work schedule conflicts.  I checked the website of that Kansas bunch of whackos, and they do not have this funeral listed to protest.  maybe I can join you for the next mission.  Glad you made it to the last one.

I'm gonna try my best to be there for the funeral on Monday.  I may plan on riding out late Sunday afternoon and spending the night in Mitchell or somewhere close.  Otherwise, I'm gonna have to leave here by 5:00 a.m. Monday morning in order to make the meeting place on time.

I'm very new to this group and this will be my first mission so if any of you have any advice or tips for the newbie, I'm all ears!

Thanks a bunch,

Bartman

Bartman,
Just bring yourself, your bike, and a flag. The mission went well today. Thanks so much to Tom "Radman" Davis for taking care of the Ride Captain duties and pulling it all together. The only negative I would say is that we only had seven riders. Having said that let me go on to congratulate those who were there on a job well done. By all accounts the police, military, and the rest of the Memorial Service were impressed with your professionalism.

I will be trailering out from the Rapid City area in the wee hours of the morning Monday. I would like to urge as many as possible to attend the Monday service. We fell a little short on numbers today but long on performance. Thanks to those that were able to attend.

On Monday we will stage as planned previously and take the interstate to Alexandria. Big flags will be stowed or furled as we travel the 12 miles down the interstate. We will halt on the exit to pull the big flags out and then proceed to the church in Alexandria. If you plan to roll up your flag bring some rubber bands or bungee.

Hey all,

Just as "durty Bird" stated, our mission went very well today. the family, funeral directors and law enforcement were very impressed and greatful we came! I believe that they were a little disappointed in the low numbers (although those that came made it a fantastic mission!), and we assured them that we were coming back with numbers on Monday - so let's have a great turnout and make 'em proud!

This was my first mission and i have to say it was probably one of the most humbling and fulfilling things i've ever done (those of you who have been on a mission can attest to this!). While being escorted to the service site, cars were pulling over and i saw civilians saluting, and/or putting there hand over their heart as we drove by with the flags. several law enforcement officers came up to us and said this was an awesome thing we were doing and if they didn't have to work the funeral they would be riding with us!! plus they said it was a refreshing change having this type of motorcycle group come thru their town They must be referring to you naughty Sturgis people

but the most humbling part of the whole mission was when soldiers in full dress uniform came over to us to shake our hands and say thank you for taking the time to do this for their fallen comrade! WOW!!!, but we told them it's the otherway around, thank you for allowing us the priviledge to be included among them in this time of honor and reflections for a soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice.

See you all on Monday ready for duty with our fearless State Captain

Durty Bird.......................thanks for the heads-up.  Got a quick question for ya.  I've got a friend and fellow rider that would like to join us on Monday.  He is not a member of the PGR as of now since he has very little access to a 'puter.  Is it alright that he joins us, or should he be signed up as a member first??

Thanks in advance,

Bartman

I'd like to thank Tom and the SD guys for making us MN folks feel welcome on today's mission.   You did a great job and should give yourselves a pat on the back.  This was my third mission, and every one has been different, but just as fullfilling.  The fact that there weren't a lot of us there isn't necessarily a bad thing.  Speaking for myself, it made it a little more......personal(?) for me.  But what matters is that the PGR was there, whether it was just 7 of us or 70 or 700.  And as I heard stated several times during the day, I believe this was just a preview of what's coming on Monday. I'll see you then.
