------UPDATE----- SSG Vachos funeral service will be Tue. May 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Ladysmith H.S. We will meet at the Army Reserve center parking lot by 10:00 a.m. The reserve center is on Hwy 27 , several blocks north of Hwy. 8, on the right hand side, just past the tracks. Fin, Sruddy, Nemo,

Just saw the final details and that is unfortunately the only day in the next two weeks I have commitments I can't get out of.  I would suggest Fin and Nemo meet up in Spring Green, run up 23  and grab sruddy in Reedsburg on the way up but as I'm out of the plan I'll let you figure out what's best.

My thoughts and prayers will be with the family and the PGR on this mission.  Ride well and be safe,  my friends. May God bless Sgt. Nathan J. Vacho for his service to the country and people he loved.

Hay Nemo What is the drive time from Madison? Which do you prefer HWY-51/39 or I-94?  Deepfreeze

It's roughly 5 hours via the slab (250 miles).  Get off at Osseo and then
10 to 27. I have always liked the trip up
Hwy 13 but I may have to hurry as I have to attend my wife's stress test
on Monday afternoon then scoot up to Sheldon that night.
Setting out Tuesday morning you better be early.

I will prolly leave Madison Monday late afternoon and stay overnight in Sheldon
or Eau Claire.

I can arrange for a couple of buddies to sleep over at the sisters in law if
we meet up Monday late afternoon.

What is your planned route and what time are you thinking of leaving?  Most likely I will be coming up from Grafton and will be passing through Green Bay.  I have some work to do on the scoot, but (fingers crossed) it should not be a problem having her road worthy agbain by Tues.  I think I will be heading out early Tues. morning.

I was planning on leaving around 6:00 am and taking hwy 29 to Thorp and then north on 73 toward Ladysmith.  We could meet in the Fleet Farm Parking lot on the corner of 41 & 29 at 6:00 AM.  Let me know if I should wait for you.

In reference to bringing flags, what size of flag should we bring along? 3' x 5' or larger? I have never attended an Patriot Guard funeral so I'm in the dark on some of these points. I would like to wear my Blue Knights chapter colors but I was wondering if is this acceptable?

For the guys riding out from Green Bay what time do you expect to be arriving in the central Wisconsin (Wausau) area? If I have an approximate time I will meet you on 29 east of Wausau at the Marathon City exit, exit 156. I will be plan my departure out of Mosinee so I arrive in time to hook up with you.

Ride safe...

3'X5' flags are the norm, but whatever you bring is fine. Wearing your colors is fine, there is no restriction at this time except those placed by the family. Welcome!!

Ken, Jimmy, and Jack,

I will be spending Monday night with my folks in Gleason. Let me know what route you decide on so I can hook up with you on the way in to Ladysmith.

I can ride back down to Wausau. or if you are coming north on US Hwy 51 I can meet you at Merrill (Hwy 17) or Tomahawk(Hwy 8), or somewhere in between.

A heartfelt thank you for your service and sacrafice Sgt. Vacho. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to the family.

Nemo, Sruddy and/or others,

I'm planning to ride up Monday afternoon with a friend from Portage. We have accommodations near Ladysmith but unfortunately no extra space. We plan to meet in Baraboo at the Kwik Trip at Hwy 33 and Hwy 12 probably around 6:00 pm. We'll head up Hwy 12 to I-90/94 and then towards Eau Claire. If anyone wants to meet in Baraboo or elsewhere along the way, let me know. I'll firm up the time for Baraboo and post it sometime this weekend.
