Our Condolence to the family of Pfc. Brandon A. Meyer.
A true American hero who has unselfishly made the supreme sacrifice while guarding our freedoms.
We vow NEVER to discount his contributions, and promise to educate those who question his role as a defender / protector.

Take comfort in knowing his legend will always live on in the hearts of his fellow Warriors, Family, Friends, and other past service members and their families.

It’s now your time to stand down.

I will be riding for the memorial service on Monday.

I just took a look at that local newspaper article. Riders, please note that PFC Meyer requested that guests at his service wear baby blue. I will dig through my closet and try to oblige him.

My deepest condolences to his widow, family, and friends.s

"Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who biddest the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea."
--The Navy Hymn, played at funerals to honor Presidents
(Navy LT John F. Kennedy, Asst. SECNAV Franklin Roosevelt and recently LCDR Gerald R. Ford)--now respectfully offered to honor this shipmate of ours, Pfc. Brandon Meyer. Different military service than mine, but still a shipmate.

Hopefully it's a comfort to family and friends to see how many "unknown" "strangers" fall in, in cyberspace and (those who are able) in person to render honors.

Also hopefully it's a comfort that this veteran's days were spent among some good friends. An admiral's send-off speech to us once observed: "there are two things of which you can be sure when you go to war: one, you will be changed, you will not be the same again and, two, you will form some of the best friendships of your life."

Soon after 9/11 we Americans got another example of the--huge--number of our unknown shipmates--when a German ship (Lutjens) drew alongside our USS Winston Churchill (DDG-81), respectfully flew our flag at half mast and exhibited a sign, "We support you."

"Like ships passing..." you family and friends of Pfc. Brandon Meyer don't know most, or all, of us--but we're here with you.

"Fair winds and following seas," shipmate.

Ride to honor memory of Dad (WW II Army) who taught me the meaning of patriotism and uncles (Korean War Army and WW II Navy).

Fontana staging Saturday morning.

Anyone going, and returning, in a cage?  My daughter just returned from Virginia, and I'm not ready to put her on the Harley until we've driven "around the block" for a few miles.

Great response from our family... Becky has two options for Saturday morning.  'Just goes to show how this group can pull together in support of one another.  Thank you all... 'Just wish her first introduction to the PGR was a happier one.
