Ride report.
Cpl. Wayne M. Geiger, 23, Lone Pine, CA
Fri 26 Oct.
The PGR consisted of riders from California and Nevada, Most traveling at least 300 miles round trip.
26 Motorcycles
9 new participants
29 total personnel

The PGR gathered at Bishop to welcome Cpl Geiger home. There were 200 local citizens in attendance as well.
The PGR escorted Wayne to the Brune Mortuary. At every intersection, many houses, and most commercial establishments people were seen standing in respect, hands over their hearts, American Flags waving. The ride got very bleary for many of the riders as we saw how Middle America welcomes home a True Hero.

At the Mortuary the PGR was dismissed. Some went home many stayed for the Escort to Lone Pine on the 27th.

May I echo Gunnys well written mission summary.
It was super to meet our members and friends from
Ridgecrest and Nevada. Welcome first timers !
We all rode to honor our hero Cpl. Wayne M. Geiger.
We were awed by the "small town" community spirit
as evidenced by the hundreds that lined the streets and
byways as we solemnly escorted Wayne home.
Gunny and I agree that this was one of the most rewarding
missions we have had the privilage to assisit in.
Mr. and Mrs. Geiger and family, we will never forget your son Wayne.

We who were Honored and lucky enough to attend this mission should understand that what we saw and experienced is what America is really all about. Not what we see in the media and especially in a CA city beginning with B.
I cannot thank enough the Riders from all over California and Nevada that rode for many hours to give this Hero and his Family the Honor & Respect deserved.
To the PGR in attendance I swell with Pride to be in your presence.
To the communities Of Bishop, Lone Pine, and all in between 1,000,000,000 thanks.

Thank you Craig.   I had second thoughts about making this mission, but I am so glad I made it.  I think I saw the best of America on Saturday.

I have never witness a true out pour of one big family in all the rides I have been on. What a true honor it was to be part of something so great. The love and affection people showed for this family was without words the best support I have ever witness. I was overcome by this and the cities that we went thru the people who pulled over and got out stood by the cars either saluting or had their hands over their heart. Made we once again believe God truley Blessed this day I will probably never be witness to this type of love shown to the Geiger family that day. The people of the surrounding towns are my heros the true taste of patriotism made me proud to be with them on this day. I truley believe the small towns still believe God and Country are alive they are the backbone of this nation.
