| FINAL RIDE REPORT - 84 Riders braved the rainy skies today to show respect to SSgt. Michael A. Bechert. We would like to thank the town of Hope for their hospitality. Everyone from Police Chief Bailey to the grounds keeper at the cemetery were a great help. The flag line was joined by numerous citizens of the town volunteering to hold flags in the line on Locust Street. Rest well SSgt. Bailey. You held the line, now we have held it for you. |

Just got back from this mission and a welcome home mission in Fortville. Bernie, you and Mavrick did an outstanding job today. Your PROTOCAL demo before the Flag line was greatly appreciated. It went so smooth it was almost military quality. Best Flag line I have been on yet. To all that showed up in the iffy weather, job well done. A lady in one of the lead cars, may have been SSGT Bechert's wife, looked me straight in the eye and said "THANK YOU VERY MUCH". Almost lost it there. Her eyes were very red and wet but yet she managed to get this out. Really tears your heart out but it certainly makes it all worth while. It also makes me and my wife swell with pride to belong to the PGR and the outstanding job we do. Thanks guys.
For those who could not make the second mission to Fortville to welcome home Spc Arron Hooter, gotta tell ya you missed meeting one hellava man. Not sure of his age but appeared to be about 24/25 going on fifty with wisdom. He did have some stories and videos to hear and watch. He goes back on 9 July for 2 1/2 months more in the hell hole. Sure want to be there when he leaves. He has been recommened for the BRONZE STAR and I can certainly see why.
Ride safe, Bro's and Sis's. See most of you in Clinton tomorrow.

IT IS FAR BETTER TO DIE ON YOUR FEET THAN TO LIVE ON YOUR KNEES.
In the words of President Teddy Roosevelt, "We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people." 1907 This is still valid today.
