Patriotism is more than a sentiment; it is a conviction based upon a comprehension of the duties of a citizen and a determination loyally to perform such duties.

Rest in peace Raymond, It was an honor to stand for you and your family today. Family and Friends, you made us feel very welcomed today. My wife, step daughter and step son commented on the turn out of family and friends. The line was all the way down the block and then some. I have been to many missions and to see (I think) the entire town, officers, fireman, guards and so on, I can't name them all, What a show of honor and respect for a great Hero. There is one thing that I did get to see, while the line was all the way down the side walk there was a few younger girls maybe 20 years old or so, one of them unfolded a quilt (I think that's what it was) in honor of this fine young man, I don't know how to explain it except that it had all kinds plans, tanks, choppers, and 2 people holding hands in the center,The detail was unreal and it was hand made, but the one thing I can say. Thank God for sunglasses. I know they looked over at me once they folded it back up and I'm sure they could see my eyes watering, then they all knodded at me. I gave them the same back. Wow that was hard.

I pray that even when I'm gone that our younger generation continues to show their Respect and Honor (war or no war) as we do in the PGR for all of our Hero’s.

Thank you Raymond for a perfect day. Today because of you, I had the pleasure of meeting some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. You are still having a profound and deep efect on many who knew you and many that didn't. No one will ever forget you, your service or your young life, I don't even know how to begin to thank all the great people who showed their respect today in this very patriotic town of Dwight. To begin with, the Victory Lane folks went way above and beyond to provide for us today. They had a buffet table loaded and ready for us when we got there this morning. After the service a few of us went there and had sandwiches and said thanks, they thanked us and reminded us to come back tommorrow. Even though it's their normal day to be closed, they will be open for us. They will have their staff and extra food ready for us Monday before and after the funeral. I wholeheartedly recomend them. The whole town of Dwight was just so grateful that we were there, they just kept telling us thanks while we were trying to thank them. There are many who should be named but I don't want miss anyone so I'll say thanks to all for today. It is said that Pride is one of the seven deadly sins. Well after leading the PGR in todays mission, I must be terminal. Thanks, goodnight and see you tomorrow. Dave Welsh U.S.Army 1966-71 PGR2006-4ever P.S. I'll be at Victory lane at 9am. We go to the church at 10am. Hope to see a big turn out.

In this war on terror.
It was an honor and a privilege to stand guard for you Lcpl. Raymond J,
Holzhauer.
I bow my head in your honor and thank you for your courage.
I am humbled in your present as you are a true patriot of freedom.
God bless the family for providing such a patriot guardian of our freedoms.
I have taken the oath that
Never again will grieving parents, families and friends alone bear the toil.
Never again will hard-won freedom of speech be used to debase and destroy.
Never again will their sacrifice be dishonored upon their home soil.
No, Never Again.
I am only a civilian but allow me to salute you,

"To Care For Him Who Shall Have Borne The Battle" - Abraham Lincoln
President Abraham Lincoln stated in the Gettysburg Address:
"From these honored dead we take increased devotion to
that cause for which they here gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain."
Dying for Freedom isn't the worst that could happen...BEING FORGOTTEN IS!
Respect and truth, not law, counters the obnoxious!
