To the Family and friends of US Army Specialist Kristofer Walker, May the creator wrap you in his warmth and comfort you during your time of loss.

It looks like Oberlander Electric will just have to put up with a case of Friday Glaucoma, as I pay my respect to our heroes, I might be a few minutes late but I will be there!

The Flag line was excellent people, My son drove by and returned home to pick up wife and 4 year old daughter, My grand daughter, Kaylie. After viewing our flag line, She Asked me about this on Sat evening while we were at my other Granddaughters 1 st birthday party. After I explained what and why. She turned and said,"Papa if you have to do that again, can I hold a flag" Needless to say I lost it.
Everyone thanks for doing this with HONOR and RESPECT.

I escorted one of these young mans body from Lambert to just south of Springfield where another small group of Patriot Gaurd Riders took him the rest of the way. It was a cold rainy night that about 10 of us came and rode to honor this young man. His best friend would make the same trip 24 hours later. Please pass this to everyone you know and everyone keep passing it to every one you know. Lets start putting name and faces to the numbers who have fallen. Michael AKA: Harleyrider62223

Today we stood in honor of SPC Kristofer walker and his family. The list of thank you's is very long of all those who contributed to the success of this misson. All LEO involved, Boley tool for use of their property to park. Thanks to all pgr members there and those who helped escort this hero home. Very pleased to see new members and the turnout of students of East Peoria High School. This nation and the state of Illinois has lost another hero and inspiration to us all.

On the second leg of the airport to Peoria escort, you know that I was disappointed to make the last minute decision to drive than ride.  It was like preparing for the Olympics and having to back out of a competition last minute.  I knew it was coooooooold but the wind was gusting to 30 MPH which would have whipped this "scooter sissy" silly.  Following in Chris's footsteps on the first leg of the run, I too drove with the heat off in my car in empathy for the riders that were out in the cold (Rod, Jim, Joe and Rojean).  Even caged with long johns on, I got cold.  I observed closely in my rear view mirror how Tom kept the tail end of the escort in tact.  A lesson which paid off the following night when I had to do this for Spcl Obourn's escort. I kept contact via cell phone to let Deb know our ETA in Peoria for the awaiting flag line at Dieters Funeral Home.  As we reduced speed at the Pinecrest overpass, I saw the camera flash in the dark toward our escort.
Afterward, we all ate at the Steak and Shake and warmed up, I accompanied Jim back to Springfield offering a choice of leading or using me as a deer catcher.  He chose the later.  I got home about 1 AM Friday morning and got up at 6AM to go to work on Thursday.

Well I didn't take too many pictures today because I arrived at the flag line just moments before the hearse had arrived at the cemetery.  Click below.

I had just been relieved of the honor guard mission for Spcl Obourn at 1100 and made it there in time.  I quickly grabbed my flag and hastily made it from the staging area to the flag line a block away.  When we were called to attention, I found myself at the position of attention waist up but parade rest from there down.  I had to spread my feet to brace myself to keep me and my flag from blowing away in the high wind.  Wind was heaven's way of reminding us the flags were waving goodbye to Kristofer at their best.  As we departed, a couple that stood across the street to pay thier own respects over by the furniture store approached me and said they were glad we were there to honor him.  I spoke with them awhile and we bonded (that means we hugged).

Well another Hero is laid to rest. May he Walk with Angels.
The last 3 days have seemed to happen in a Whirlwind. Seems like every 5 seconds something was changing, moved up or decided against, but in the end we did what we do best we honored S.P.C. Walker with a Beautiful flag line at the entrance to Fondulac Cemetary. As far as I know all wishes that his family wanted were carried out and that is the main thing. The weather has been very uncooperative the last couple days and today was no exception , the wind was very strong but made our flags wave Proudly.
I just want to say a couple thanks.... first to the young man who was here visiting from California and he heard what had happened and he wanted to know if he could join in with us, I said you betcha as I handed him a flag. He stood along with us in that flag line like he had been there and done that more than once, when it was over he rolled up his flag, walked quietly to his car and as he was leaving I stopped  him just long enough to tell him how much I appreciated that he was there.
And another is Rogene, I cannot say enough about her, she did both escorts and I must say with the wind conditions she has way more guts than me.... but we spent alot of time together in the last couple days and I found how just how much heart she has , it is enourmous. I called her this morning before I left to go to the staging area and she said she was gonna stand down for it because she was not feeling well, then a couple hours later,Claudette(weepingdove) called me and told me she was leaving the hotel and going home, much to Ro's changrin because she was planning on being here for both missions, but as the day went on she felt worse and worse and was afraid if she did not go home she would not make it home. I am really concerned about her , if anyone knows if she made it home , please post it or call me. I am getting long winded sorry, but one last note. Thanks to all of you who did the Honor Guard and
Thanks to all of you who showed up today and the Days of the escorts, without you all we could not do what we do and I just want you All to know how much I appreciate everyone of you......................................................DEB (ladyrider)
