Badman, are you from the KC area? I have Sardog, Big dog & Doc Peterson all are Ride Captains from eastern Ks. Sardog in topeka, Big Dog in Osklaoosa, Doc in Lenexa right now without looking at a map not sure which one is closer to KC. I am also working with the Missouri State Captain for the Handoff, although Missouri may ride with us all the way in. What I need is a good Place to meet to handoff the Stone in The KCK/KCMO area. if you could help with that that would be great,as both Doc & Big Dog are Bz with Missions at present. Keep in mind The date for the handoff will have to be sometime between the 27th Aug. & 9-02-06. Right now I cannot give you a hard date until the Stone gets closer. So be very flexilble on the day. I am waiting on a call for possible Military escort. And I would also like to move on a day that most folks that want to be a part of it can make it. thank you for your help. When I hear from you I will contact Missouri State Captain for Transfer sight. We still have a few days and we need to keep security for the Stone in mind. Also I would like to do this early morning as it is a 6 hour drive form KC to Dodge. We will have fuel stops & lunch still have to be worked out.

Final (probably) update on Shanksville, PA to Wheeling, WV leg of the journey:

Just spoke to the administrator of the Flight 93 Memorial.  She is glad that we're familiar with etiquette, etc. around cemeteries as they consider this a heroes' cemetery ... and rightly so.  She asked me to pass along that no literature hand-outs or sales of anything are allowed, so I am doing that, but assured her that's not a concern.

One of our own Members, who is also a CMA member, has offered to ask God's blessing on our activities and project at the Memorial.  PGR coming from D.C. still expect to arrive between 3:15 & 4:00.

As soon as possible after moving the Pentagon Memorial Stone from Suzie's pickup to Joe's, we will head out to give everyone as much daylight as possible to get home after reaching Wheeling.  We'll have a quick briefing to discuss traffic control, etc. and then get moving up Lambertsville Rd., W on Rte. 30, S on Rte. 711, W on Rte. 31, & W on Rte 70 to Wheeling.

At least one newspaper will be joining us with photographer, probably.  Some of the local leaders who have been involved in the Flight 93 Memorial Project have also been notified in case they'd like to join us.

And once again, anyone who hasn't been to the Memorial yet might want to come a little early and check it out.  You'll be glad you did.

Everybody be safe!  Hope to see you tomorrow.          Joe Z

Adding to Joe's intinerary:

I wasn't thinking ahead on this, but after the PA/WV transfer, through some contacts, we were asked to display the stone at the local Cabela's store Tuesday evening from around 7:00 to 8:30.  Anyone wishing to be there and help answer questions would be greatly appreciated.  I just wasn't sure anyone having a long ride ahead or back would want to hang around.  But if you do, I would surely appreciate it.  This is getting out to a lot of news media, so the more the merrier. Looking forward to being with you all on this historic mission.

                                                                                                           Ride safe,

Shanksville-bound tomorrow?  Please top off your tank & empty your bladder somewhere nearby.  Small gas tanks won't make it to Wheeling in one swoop, so we'll make a fuel stop ... but not near Shanksville.

Thanks,          Joe

Where is Cabela's store in relation to Shanksville?  I'm betting it's further north?  May not be able to continue on with that, but boy I sure wish I could.  My truck is prepped and ready to go tomorrow morning - cleaned in and out and window flags are at the ready.  My PGR Support Vehicle magnets got here just today and they are on the back of the truck already.

At little FYI - I bought my first American flag of my own on September 12, 2001.  I have flown it on every holiday and occasion since.  Tonight I folded it into it's final triangle.  Tomorrow it will be retired.  I will have it with me in the truck tomorrow.  When I return home, it will permanently be inserted into a flag box.

I've said it before, but I am truly honored to be carrying this piece of American history, as sad as it is, on it's first leg to Dodge City, Kansas.  Yesterday, 20 August, I visited Ground Zero for the first time.  Tomorrow I will visit Shanksville for the first time.  I have visited the Pentagon many, many times during the writing of my book, so this is full circle for me.  I am so proud to be an American and a Patriot Guard Rider.  The fellow countrymen (and women) I have met over the past 5 years, and especially in the past 5 months with PGR are some of the most important people in my life.  Thank you all for your kindness, your friendship, and your continuing acts of RESPECT AND HONOR.

God Bless You All.

Suzy Q....Cabella's is located approximately 5-6 miles East of Wheeling, WV on I-70, which would be somewhere around 100 miles West of Shanksville (give or take a few).  Quite the trip for you but we would be honored to have you accompany us along the route.

This will make my second visit to Shanksville in the past 3 months but I'm positive this one will leave a much more significant impression on me (if that's possible).  The more I run this through my head, the more HUMBLED I am at being afforded the opportunity to do this small part of an extremely important mission.

Please drive safely tomorrow.  I'll be extremely pleased to meet you in Shanksville.

Speaking of flags, my story is just about the opposite, though. I, too, bought my first US flag of my own right after 9-11, I fly it continously and it is time to retire it just from it being so worn........when my daughter went to the UAE last year, she requested that a US Flag be flown over Iraq, which it was and she brought it home to me. I have yet to fly it or even take it out of the box (as I want to have it mounted and framed)....this mission tomorrow will be my First PGR mission, and it is happening on a very special day for me....so the flag is layed out on the dining room table and will be placed on my back dashboard for the PA leg of this once in a lifetime mission. And my PGR car flag is ready to be mounted.

I'm hoping that I can make it to Cabela's, but I willl have at least a 4 hour drive ahead of me and I do have to be to work at 7:00 the next morning...so we shall see how the day goes before I make that call.

I am truly honored to be apart of the PGR and you are all very special to me. I am extremely grateful for our Military Personnel everyday, past, present and future.
