My dad was a SeaBee in War II. I was a Marine in Nam. My son just got back from Iraq. If my grandson ever comes to me for advice on how he should serve his country, I'll let him know that he could do a hell of a lot worse than be a Swabee in the SeaBees.

Princeton to Aledo stage of the escort - Please contact me (greg.bowman@insightbb.com) or Mike (mikebowman@cin.net) if you plan to ride the escort for Petty Officer Tharp from Princeton to Aledo. Mike and I need to know who will be present to know numbers and how to select the 8 riders for the lead riders for the escort detail. (See Chris' post for details.) We will be meeting at the Road Ranger truckstop in Princeton at Exit 56 on I-80. This is the point where Mrs. Tharp and other family members will first connect with the remains. Flexibility in time and dignity in appearance are required for this one.

Joe Tracy (TRACYFDS) from Quad Cities has confirmed.
John Scanlan, an Iraq war veteran, is on this leg of the escort.
Preacherman is added to the escort list.
Ed (Wescoot2) and his better half Linda, a/k/a iScoot2, will be on this leg also.
Steve (Harleydoc) and Dan Kress (DMK) will join the escort at Princeton.
Mike Mower and Jamie Emery (flyn45) are signed in.
Mark Robertson (MarkusP) will carry thru from Chicago.

Please check this site for details on dates and timing.  You will learn it here first.

For all those who will be on the Escort Mission from the Chicago area, the staging times and location have not been set yet. I am still waiting for an approximate arrival time of PO1 Tharp, before determining these. As you know, timing is everything in this area, and dependent upon the arrival time, the location may be different. I will post up any and all information, as I receive word. Please make sure you have water for yourself as we may have to wait, and also for the road as it seems it will be another HOT one. Also, since our first stop is a little over 100 miles, please top off your tank before your arrival to make sure you can go the distance.

Respects,
Ed
