13 Jul 2006 4:59 PM Alert
Just wanted to put out some helpful info for all who will be riding into Fargo to help with escorting Spc. Troy Linden.

Gas stations with 91 octane close to Hector Airport:
CENEX, 12th ave N and 38th St. , west side of exit 66 off of I-29.

TESORO STAMART TRAVEL CENTER, 12th ave N and 35th st, east side of exit 66 off of I-29.

TESORO, 19th ave N and University which is approx 2-3 miles east of Hector Airport.

Exit 67 on I-29 for 19th ave N is still closed do to construction.

I would suggest taking exit #66 as it is open currently for both south and north bound traffic on I-29. Head east from exit #66 until you get to 18th st. N, take a left hand turn and head north to 19th Ave N, you will be to the west of NDSU and the Fargo Dome. At 19th Ave N take a left hand turn again and head west until you get to Dakota Drive and turn right heading north to Hector Airport.

There is a good restraunt in the Stamart Travel Center, (Northtown Grill) and there are many fast food places east of Hector by University Dr and 19th ave N.

With the staging time at 5:00, you will be catching some of the after work traffic, so ride safe!
I hope this helps everyone coming in from outside of Fargo. See you tomorrow night. I am honored to be able to ride and escort Spc. Troy Linden back to DL with you all.

The funeral home in Detroit Lakes is located about 3 blocks south of Highway 10. A convenient way to disburse after the escort will be to continue south on Summit Avenue to the stop sign at Willow. Willow street connects to Highway 59 to the west, three blocks to the east is Washington Avenue with food, fuel, and easy return to Highway 10 . Summit also continues south to the lake.

Thank you Lisa and Gigi for taking the lead on the rooms. I GREATLY appreciate it, as I think others do. I'll be making my reservations in the morning.

If there are others around the Big Lake/Monti/Elk River/Becker/NW area that are interested in going up Tuesday afternoon, and want to ride as a group, please let me know (763)263-6723. We can go up either Hwy. 10, or Interstate 94. We could arrange meets, to gather other riders. I'd like to leave the Big Lake Holiday Station at 4p.m.

If you make room reservations, please let them know that we won't be arriving until about 7-8p.m.

AGAIN, THANK YOU Lisa and Gigi

I'm planning on free-riding from south minneapolis that morning and linking up when I get there -- figure to leave around 0500 or a little before... anyone want to join in this informal non-official ride, email me. The plan is alone or small group, and really quick fuel stops.

Sincerest condolences to the Linden family on their huge loss.
