Lori,

We'll be leaving Orono HS at 5:30 AM. Google maps says it is 1 hour & 19 minutes to Litchfield from there. I believe we'll be stopping for fuel in Litchfield at whatever is available right on US-12. I'd say start looking for us on US-12 around 6:30 - 6:45 AM on the way into town.

Sadly, on Monday another American Hero from Minnesota will be laid to rest. A young man who stood up to fight for the cause of the very freedoms we all take for granted every day.

It is always a sad occasion when we have to lay to rest another American Hero, even more so at such a young age. I salute you, Sgt. Miller, and it will be my honor to stand watch for you and your family as you stood watch for us. May the Good Lord welcome you into His kingdom of salvation!

To the Miller family: for what comfort it may bring you, know that this entire state, indeed the entire nation owes Kyle a debt of honor and gratitude. We mourn your loss with you. May the Good Lord bring you comfort in this most difficult of times.

Birdie,

The best place to stop for fuel in Litchfield would be HandiStop, it's on the right side of Hwy 12 if you are coming from Orono after you get into town. You will pass Bumper to Bumper & Taco Johns and you will see it, it is the 2nd gas station on the right. Handistop has a large parking lot as there is also a car wash next door and they have plenty of room for all of us where we will not be in the way.

Do we have road guards that will block the intersections? If not I am sure our Chief of Police ( a National Guard member), Pat Fank would be happy to have us escorted through town. We have several stop lights in Litchfield, other than that it would be clear sailing all the way to Willmar with no stop lights through Grove City, Atwater or Kandiyohi.

Let us know if you need help with anything along the way.

Thanks

Lori & Andy:
We have contacted the Litchfield Police and I am told they are very happy to help.
Our LEO Coordinator has set up traffic control with the Litchfield Police to get us through
the town, Phil told me they were extremely cooperative and wanted to do whatever possible to help.
I really appreciate thier cooperation.

I am on my way to Willmar now and will Cgheckout the Handistop. It sounds just right.

Thank you for all your input.

Hey NE?NW sector,

Even though our RC's cannot attend I'm thinking there's others than me heading to Willmar. My Map Quest is sending me 35W to 694 to 94 exiting on 23 towards Cold Spring. It says it is 138.38 miles with a traveling time of 2 hours 33 minutes. This will keep the travel against traffic and no stop and go on the back roads. I'll be leaving the gas station (BP or Conoco?) right on 35 at the Hwy. 97 ramp at 5am on Monday. If someone else is going and knows a better route please let me know and I'd like to join you otherwise let me know if you're joining me. Just so you know, I'm not a RC and have no disclaimer forms - just looking for riding buddies heading west. I don't want to go through the construction zones in the cities.

Susan,

You may want to consider going to Orono HS in Long Lake as there will be a law enforcement escort to get us from there to and through Delano (and all of the construction areas). This is going to shave some time off the trip as it will keep the group together and negate all of the stop lights, etc.

There will be another escort through Litchfield later on in the trip.

My heart is heavy as we learn of the loss of another Minnesota Hero, especially at such a young age. Words are not adequate to say thank you to SGT. Miller - he gave more to us in his short time with us than many ever will. I pray for God to shelter and comfort his family and friends during this time of sorrow - may you find strength in knowing that Kyle is our hero also and that we are honored to be invited to celebrate his life and express our gratitude.

I will not be able to attend this mission - but my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. Thank you my PGR brothers and sisters for representing me - I am very proud of each of you. Ride safe!

GOD BLESS

To the family of Sgt Kyle Miller,
I pray God's blessings for you during this difficult time, know that He will see you through. I had the pleasure of meeting Kyle on the 6th Grade Class Trip from BOLD when we went to Duluth. Kyle was a member of the group I chaperoned. Kyle was also in the same Unit in the Guards as my daughter Brittany in Willmar. It brings me great sorrow to know that another one has paid the ultimate price. It is uncomprehesible for me to understand the sacrifice our own are willing to make, yet I am ever so grateful. I will be there on Monday on behalf of the PGR in honor of a true American Hero. With heartfelt sorrow and deepest graditude - Thank you, Kyle!
