Illinois is a no helmet state but you will need glases or something for your eyes.  The police will ticket you if you dont wear eye protection.

I'll be riding west on I-24. (weather permiting) If anyone wants to meet at the Cracker Barrel, Exit 27 (the Calvert City exit) I would enjoy the company. I plan on being there at 900 hours. Email me if anyone interested.

Good evening fellow PGR's....as all of you probably are aware I am only a day old in the PGR so regretably I will not be able to attend tomorrow for LCpl Price.  I attempted to get off of work tomorrow to attend but just couldn't make it happen in such short notice.  Please give my condolences to the family.  United States Marine, LCpl Price is guarding the gates of heaven now and continuing to look over us all.  Semper Fi.
All of you ride safe and God Bless.

Don,

I'm glad to see that you are going to be there. It will give me a chance to meet you and shake your hand brother. When you get to the High School look for a short old guy with a gray beard. I ride a Black Cherry Road Star. See you there.

I just came back from the visitation, there were many many visitors, the line was continuous from 3:30 - 9:45. There was a changing of the guard every twenty minutes. The family seems to be doing well, all are very proud and very greatful for the support. They are looking forward to our presence and really appriciate the effort.

Thanks everyone,
Dustin

It is going to be very tight, if I can make it home in time, I will try catch up to you all at the rally point. Mapquest says two hours ride to Caseyville so I may have to catch you on the road, or in Woodlawn. If I do not make it in time, Godspeed to all and ride safe.

Well, I've gotten lucky. I will be trailering my bike down from Indy, borrowed it from a State Trooper cycle officer. Is it going to be OK if I park the truck and trailer at the high school. Hey it's tuff getting old ya know!
Hello everyone. I am brand new here. I found this thread through a Google search. I sure wish I would've known about this site earlier....*nudging partychic7424* Just what I need....an excuse to get the tires wet.
The forecast, as of 2am:
Friday: A 50 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. South wind between 9 and 11 mph.

I would suggest taking highway 15 West(Exit 95 on I-57) from Mt. Vernon. Go W approx. 4 miles to the Shell station on your right. There is a large parking lot behind the station, where there is MORE than enough room to park your truck and trailer. Then, you only have to go about a mile North to the high school. There is going to be a large procession from Mt. Vernon to Woodlawn at approx. 9 am, so I would imagine by the time noon rolls around, parking at the high school will be tight for a truck with a trailer.

Also....Mt. Vernon's local country station is going to be covering the whole day with procession updates, and tributes. The station is WMIX 94.1 & 940 AM.

I will be looking for you Lee, though you would be easier to spot if you wear the tr-corner!...It will be an honor to ride with you, and ride for all of you who cannot make it, to pay our respects to this brave young man, his family, and his community. Ride safe and proud.

Just wanted to let everyone know that a motel in Mt. Vernon IL refused to let the WBC have a room there last night.

My husband is staying there and he called this morning to ask if there were any services for a solider today in that area and I found this one so I'm taking it that this is the one they are there for.

I wonder if they will cause a stink for the motel not letting them stay.

Don't think it will make a difference if they make a stink or not because businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone.  I hope they do make a stink...might drive a little business TOWARD this particular motel for having the guts to stand up and say "no".

I couldnt agree more.  This was my first mission, husbands second, and I'm speechless. Way to go PGR!  We left a bit early due to prior engagement and just so happen to pass the UG's on the road.  Needless to say , we stood out as the car had PGR banner on it.  Ready to ride, anytime.  Job well done.
