I will be leaving from the Corinth area.  I can meet you at the McDonald's on Swisher and I35.  The time is the only question.  I was thinking about 8:30 am.  Let me know your thoughts and we'll get it worked out.

At least Dallas's finest have some suspects in custody for this atrocity

[bΤ arrested in Navy man's death[/b]

11:29 AM CDT on Thursday, June 15, 2006

From DallasNews.com / Dallas Morning News

Two men were arrested Thursday morning in connection with the death of a U.S. Navy sailor who was killed Friday night while on leave visiting family in Dallas.

On leave from Navy, man fatally shot

Kameron Pratt, 34, was parked Friday night in front of his parents' home in the 6100 block of Lake Placid Drive when two men approached. Pratt was dragged out of his pickup and shot in the chest, and his truck was taken, police said. He died a short time later at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

Police recovered Pratt's truck Saturday night, and identified two suspects after tracking tires and rims that were taken from the truck. Itar Elan Kissentaner, 26, and Michael Dewayne Walton, 34, both of Dallas, were arrested around 5:30 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Du Bois Avenue in South Dallas.

"Detectives were able to identify the type of wheels and tires the complainant had purchased, (and) we were able to follow and locate where the property had been sold," said Dallas police Lt. Mike Scoggins.

Scoggins said the stolen accessories were sold in the Oak Cliff area, but declined to be more specific, saying that detectives were still working the case.

Both suspects are in police custody, and will face capital murder charges. Bail has been set at $1 million each.

Muster for PO2 Pratt in south Dallas is at 8:00 AM.  I think that with Dallas traffic it could easily take an hour to get there. (Especially since I've been known to take the wrong turn occasionally. :-) )  We might better be leaving Corinth about  6:30-7:00 am.  This will give us time to have a cup of java and visit old friends once we get to the staging area.

Suggested route:   I35 to     Loop 12 to      S Walton Walker to    Ledbetter to S Hampton

My cell is 940-391-1564

My heart goes out to the family and friends of CPO Pratt, may you rest in peace.

Regretfully, I cannot make this mission, due to work, I was absent from work on Monday to go to the mission for Pfc Tribble, and cannot secure another day off this week.

Be safe out there PGR, and thank you for honoring this hero.

I am humbled by the opportunity to show my gratitude to our Fallen Heroes.

If you don't find anyone to hook up with coming south, look back on page 3 of this mission thread at about the 17th post down from wisesafe, the Texas State Captain, and he's provided two maps of the staging / service area.  Basically 75 south through the interchange in dallas, to 35 south toward Waco, to Hwy 67, then the Loop 12 exit, which is Ledbetter Dr. Where it and Hampton rd intersect is the staging point and across the street the church.  Here's a Google map of the same. Just zoom in or out to needed perspective.

I almost goofed, I think. I had recieved a stand down about another mission, and thought I had posted about this one, it doesn't seem to have made it to the forum though. If someone caught it, thanks, my computer had wigged out on me in the process of doing it, and I wasn't sure about what happened. I hope it just didn't go through, and no harm no foul, I am still trying to clear some things up tonight so that I can attend the services and mission in the am. That a couple of career criminals are alive today, and a contributing member of society and our military is gone just doesn't make sense, my most heartfelt prayers are with the Pratt family, as are the rest of our nations.
God bless everyone, ride safe,
Doug

Home again safely from yet another mission.  The blue Miata (now christened the official East Texas PGR Pace Car) took us the distance, even dodging a few rain drops on the way into Palestine.  We even got the opportunity to stop at Action Powersports in Ennis, TX and visit with Killswitch (PGR member Rick Crabb) on the trip home, and drool over a roomful of new bikes.

Thanks to Jeff for doing the driving and tolerating my snoring on the return trip.

60 bikes, 10 cages, 75 members total turned out for the mission to honor Petty Officer Kameron Pratt.  Thanks to Double D and E.R. for taking the lead on this one, and to everyone who turned out for taking time off on a weekday to pay homage to this young man and his family and friends.  Our presence at the church and cemetery were appreciated, and helped provide comfort in an otherwise tragic situation.

Thanks again and ride safe.  Until the next one, God speed.

This was my first mission, and when I heard about Petty Officer Pratt's death, and that PGR was gonna ride...I knew I had to go on this one. My bro's Active Duty Navy and My grandpa was Navy in WWII, so Petty Officer Pratt was pretty much a brother. It was an honor to be on this mission and I was VERY pleased with the turnout. I couldn't think of a better send off to give this fine young man. My heart goes out to his family, and all the families of our troops. I have added his name to my "wall of honor" online. www.collierpoetry.com/fallen/fallen.htm It's not complete, and sadly never will be. IF you know of a name that you would like to see on the Wall of Honor, email me and I will gladly add that person's name. Hooah!! ~S~

Another mission completed, I pray for the day we can no longer have to say that. This was a beautiful young man with a very nice family. So not only was this a tragedy in how it happened but in that it happened at all, like all the others.

Long hot day with a lot of wonderful men and women who I would love to be around more often for a much happier reason.

Glad to see you made it back okay, Kim.....I finally got home at 6:20, wind whipped and very tired.......2 hrs and 20 mins from Salado to Kyle says a lot about Austin traffic, doesn't it?.....Anyway, it was a great showing by PGR, but I have to say, as a Navy vet, their (the Navy) presence at the church was embarrassing (and an outrage).......the funeral director had to go amongst the mourners present to ask for pall bearers.....I spoke with the CPO in charge of the services and she informed me that this was her first service and she made a mistake......well, duh!!!..... I sincerely hope she learns from this inexcusable error......anyway, the Navy did provide a very sharp Honor Guard at the cemetery......so, for you Navy vets that were present, now you know what happened. Again, Fair winds and following seas in God's Navy, PO Pratt.

What a day! William and I were proud to serve Chief Pratt and his family. I was honored to help David, and to lead the main PGR procession. Sorry for the extra lane change, but I am learning!

We are looking forward to the Meet and Greet today, see you there!

Again i thank you and i never met a buch of super guys and gals like yall hope to see yall soon but under more pleasant conditions.

As usual, it has been an honor to serve with the PGR. I feel as you all do, proud of my comrades, and proud of our service men & women. Muddyduck, thanks for making the long trip thru the I35 Corridor. It can be a real guantlet thru Austin and all that construction. I appreciate the fine effort, my friend. I know you were tired when you got home. It was really nice to see all the familiar faces again, but especially gratifying to see the new members. Welcome aboard! Below is the link to the photographs of the ceremony on Friday. I took nearly 300 pics, but many are for the family only. As usual, the guard is well documented. Enjoy and feel free to download.  There will be a link added to the "Ride Report" thread after it has been written. Ride safe!
