There's a group of us here... Delaware and MD. We met Gary Gasking, Joe Cumblidge and some of the others who have put this massive mission together. They are to be commended for what they have accomplished and we haven't even done the mission yet.

It will be quite an honor to take this journey tomorrow.

Folks, there are absolutely NO words that can describe today's mission. That's why I'll let Gary make the Ride Report (isn't that what a good SC is supposed to do???...delegate...LOL!!!) Seriously, as far as "happy" missions go, there can't be anything happier than doing something like this for a true, living American hero. Yes, Welcome Home missions are very, very special, but to meet someone who is a legend like Mr. Buckles and Suzannah, David and Phyllis Hall with the Traveling Libery Bell and many, many PGR members from varyious states is absolutely awesome. Perfect weather, beautiful people and a living legend. It doesn't get much better than that! Gary, Mark, Kelly, your significant others and everyone who played any part in bringing this off with the perfection we saw, I sincerely thank and commend you. Job well done!!! As I saw it, everyone in attendance today had a smile on their face and in their heart as they were departing for home. It is my sincere hope and prayer that all arrive safely. Thank you to each and every one for your attendance today. Mr. Buckles, you are the "mold" for a true American Hero. Thank you, sir, for your service to our country and for allowing us to be a small part of your storied life. With Respects, Joe

What an incredible event the PGR staged for Mr. Buckles!
It was very well coordinated and organized.
Hats off to all who had a part in the planning.

It was a humbling experience to be a part of the tribute to Mr. Buckles, one I shall not forget.

The elequent talk given by the man who brought the bell was educational and moving.

I feel honored to have been allowed to take part in the ride and hope all others feel the same.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable time making the trip and had a safe ride home.

Hope to see all of you again someday.

I was glad to have been able to make this mission, and bring my mom along with me (it was her first mission). We both stood to respect and honor Mr. Buckles (and wish him a happy 106 B-Day!). The day turned out great, the ride Captains did excellent work organizing this, the volunteers and those that donated were wonderful, the Liberty Bell was impressive and ringing it brought goose bumps to my skin, and on top of all that, it was so inspiring to see such a strong PGR turnout. Thank you all for sharing this day and thank you to Mr. Buckles and family.

Happy Birthday!

Good Morning All,
I just spoke with Scott Wallace, producer of the American Veteran television show.  You may remember Scott as the photographer/reporter who attended the mission we did last September for WWI Veteran Frank Buckles of Ranson, WV.
Scott reports the video is now complete and is available for viewing, on-line, at www.va.gov.  Scroll down and click on The American Veteran.  In the new window, go down till you see the piece on Mr. Buckles and choose your video player.
Just FYI, too, Gary is in the early planning stages of another summertime mission to honor Mr. Buckles.  This, more than likely, will NOT be held at his farm but, rather, at as of yet undetermined location for a possible cookout/picnic.  As soon as we get permission from Suzannah and have date/location firmed up, we will be starting another thread on the PGR site announcing this.
Please pass this along to all who may be interested.
Respects,
