I am ready to ride but need to know if any PG MCs will be hooking up around metro area. I live in Maple Grove area.

There will be multiple staging locations set up all over the state, including several in the metro area. Stay tuned to the message boards as they will be posted on here.

LCpl Posivio's passing is especially unfortunate.  He was only recently returned to Iraq after having been wounded in combat.  When the notification came the parents thought it was the delivery of his purple heart, but they immediately knew differently when they saw the faces of the Marines at their door. 

Not two years ago, their other son, serving in the Navy, was killed while on leave.  For whatever reason, God has seen fit to take both of their sons home, and in a very short period of time.  My thoughts and prayers go out to them and all affected.

I spent my summers working on a relatives farm in Sherburn, and I will ride for this occasion, if possible, with a heavy heart.

The controversial Westboro Baptist Church plans to protest at funerals for two area soldiers killed Tuesday in Iraq.

The Topeka, Kan., church announced Friday that it will picket 11 funerals of fallen soldiers, including those for Spc. Michael Hermanson of Fargo and Lance Cpl. Robert Posivio III of Sherburn, Minn.

The church claims that U.S. military deaths in Iraq are a sign of divine punishment for America’s tolerance of homosexuals.

A bill keeping protesters at least 1,000 feet away from funerals, funeral processions and burial ceremonies passed in the Minnesota legislative session. Gov. Tim Pawlenty signed the bill into law May 9.

I live in Las Vegas and the WBC wakos site said they were going to protest here, but they never showed up. Remember they probably read our site just like we read theirs. The more that show up for any mission the better but I think we would be better served by not writing about them on this site and sending e-mails to all in state and to the adjacent states if their site says they will show up. Why give them the satisfaction of knowing someone came from a long distance or changed their plans because the WBC said they were going to protest.
