Guys and gals... need to know something.

I'm in Fargo and was wanting to participate. I ride a chopper and I'm an Air Force vet.

I believe Mike is a hero and I would like to honor him and his family. That being said, I'm against the war in Iraq and have been since the beginning. In my mind the mission itself and the people we ask to complete it are two different things.

I don't want my opinion of the war to get in the way of honoring a fallen hero. I just wanted to be up front with you and ask you if I could still participate.

I don't want to start a discussion here about the war - I'm here to honor Mike.

Thank you in advance!

BearSox--I say by all means, show up. Politics are left at home, as these missions aren't in support of any military action, but in support of fallen military heroes. If you are willing to show up to respectfully honor the fallen and support his family and offer assistance in shielding them from the picketing idiots, you fit right in, regardless of your beliefs about the current war situation. Whether you support or oppose the war and the reasons behind it matters not.

I only wish I could participate, but I have to hit the highway to Cheyenne, WY Friday morning. Go in my place!!

I won't apologize for being an American!

I have no idea about what time passing thru Detroit Lakes could happen.  Riding with a sharp eye for deer and pushing speed limit as usual, LOL.......
Riding red and black Valkyrie Interstate, possible that my bride will join us with her red and white Valkyrie too.  So what time should I be at Detroit Lakes to be on schedule?

We all have our feelings about the war,  that being said it's not about what we feel about the war the counts it is Honoring a fellow Soldier that made the ultimate sacrifice for his country.  And doing so with the utmost respect and dignity to which he deserves.  We do not want ANY bad publicity in any of our Missions, that would go against what the PGR stands for.  If you have never been on a mission I do not beleive you can grasp what an HONOR it is to be asked to participate.  After participating in my first mission I only became more resolved to do whatever I can to help the PGR and my fellow VETS

As one of Mike's former high school classmates, I just want to express my deepest respect and gratitude to this group for everything that it does for these families in their time of grief. I cannot tell you how thankful we are that some of you will be able to attend Mike's funeral, this week. It breaks my heart to know that there are groups like the WBC, out there, and that they can be so utterly inhumane in expressing their beliefs. I've notified my classmates and friends of the PGR's plans to attend, and I hope that many will come out and join you, on bike and on foot. Again, thank you so much.

Much love,
Roz Corwin

Im originally from New Orleans and I was stationed in Grand Forks in the Air Force. It made me sick when I found out what these people were doing at the funerals of our fallen soldiers. These people have no clue what it is to make a sacrifice for a greater cause and only seem to care about themselves. I am now living in Fargo with my girl and no longer in the service and I respect any person that serves there country. I hope theres so many people out there supporting the Spc. that you cannot even see or hear the protestors. Deepest respects to the family and may God be with you.

Well, I have to drive down instead of ride, but I'll hopefully have an extra 3x5 flag.  I will be looking forward to honoring Spc. Hermanson. I have a hunch the public will turn out in large numbers.

I'll try to follow you all down to Fargo from the Truck stop if I get off work early enough.

Btw, I read in the Fargo news that said we are counter protesting. I believe we are neither protesting or counter protesting.

We are not making any political statements or doing any posturing. The public needs to know that.

See you all Friday morning.

If anyone else is interested in the Fargo Mission on Friday, June 02, we are staging at the Big Chief Truck Stop at I-94 and US 59 south of Fergus Falls at 0900.    Please advise if you plan to meet there.  The staging in Fargo is at 1000, but the place is still in doubt.  I will advise on that.  Don't know if we'll have visitors.
Ted

(Note: We will be LEAVING Big Chief at 9:00)
