| Only those who have seen the elephant, can know for sure the character of those who have also. I for one, will always answer the call of a comrade, fallen or otherwise. To the family and loved ones of Spc. Teeters, you are not alone in your grief, America has truely suffered a loss. Standing by in New Orleans. |

IMPORTANT RIDE INFO! I have made the ride from Baton Rouge down to the funeral home and the cemetery. Mapquest was correct on the mileage, about 65, but incorrect on dirve time, it's about 1 hour 20 min (doing the speed limits) and not 2 hours. In any case, the route posted earlier is a good route. From Baton Rouge, cross the Mississpipi River via I-10, go south on LA 1, right on LA 69 at White Castle, Right on LA 70 at Pierre Part on to Morgan City.
Baton Rouge: Plans are to stage about two miles south of the off ramp of the Mississippi River bridge on HWY 1 (left side) at the Burger King or the adjacent strip mall parking lot. Departure time 11:00 to arrive at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium for 12:30. Meet up with others coming in from east and west and depart from the Auditorium at 12:45 (the Auditorium is at the North-East intersection of HWY 182 and Myrtle Street) and arrive at the funeral home by 1:00.
PGR coming in from the east of west, US 90 runs right through Morgan City.
By the way the Auditorium, Funeral Home and Cemetery are all in close proximity to one another. My cell is 225-485-8765. I will email Louisiana PGR a map of Morgan City tomorrow from the office. Thanks. |

Mosby, others, I think it's a good idea to meet at the Auditorium due to what's been mentioned in earlier post about parking. It's not too far to send someone to evaluate parking and/or make arrangements with Funeral Director, local authorities, etc. It should all work out. Thanks. |

Posted By Strider on 05/19/2006 11:54 PM If anyone out of Lafayette wants to ride down on Tuesday, I will be going kickstand up at 11:00 am from the Wendys/Shell Station at the corner of Albertson's Pkwy and I-90 (corner of the parking lot of Albertson's in Broussard).
Meet me at the gas station or in the parking lot alpngside the station. I will arrive around 10:30 or so and get a coffee.
Leave out at 11:00 and travel I-90 to Morgan City.
I'm in a cage. Actually a really big box. But I'll try to stop there and see if you guys need me to watch your rear end. Or carry anything. Or whatever. |

| Does anyone know: Was this soldier the son of another former Army soldier and his German wife that were stationed in Frankfurt, Germany in the late 80's and early 90's? I have not seen any mention of who our fallen comrade leaves behind. Thanks~ |

MMCM, DiskEater - It's an Exxon station on the corner of I-10 Service Road and Loyola exit. Lets meet at the Exxon Station. There is a Shell Station down a block or so, but the Exxon is much larger. See 'ya guys at the Exxon at 11.
It's a hour jog to Morgan City from there. |

So sorry folks!
Just found out today that my company has me going to a class tomorrow. I will not be able to make the ride!
Sorry!
I sent the Louisiana VRCC a mass email and asked if they could make it, please do!
Again, I will not be at the Albertson's in Broussard. I am so sorry I can't make this ride!!!!!!!!
God Bless the family and all who can make it to show the family support! |

Mission Complete...
Thanks to all that were able to attend, those that could not, we understand and know that you wanted to be there. The family and friends were very appreciative that we were there. Brandon's father came out to persoanlly thanks us and shake our hands. Blue Star Moms were there and expressed their appreciation as well.
All in all, everything went as planned, staged at the auditorium, then proceeded to the funeral home. The funeral director placed us behind the lead vehicle and just ahead of the hearse so that we could fly our flags in honor of Spc Teeters, bringing him to his final place of rest.
Spc. Brandon L. Teeters, thank you for your service, you are a hero and you will be remembered. May God bless you and your family and friends and comfort you all. |

This was my first mission, and I came away with a great sense of pride and honor being a member of such a great orginaztion. I have read here several mission ride reports that praised the manner in which the Patriot Guard conducts itself on missions, after experinceing it first hand , it is just a heartfelt experience that made me proud to be a part of, granted I wish it could have been under better circumstances . The mere fact that Brandons father would take time to come out and shake our hands and thank us, when we should be thanking him for the sacrifice his son gave this country is just an amazing feeling.
To Brandon's family and friends I offer you my deepest condolences and pray that God help you through this diffucult time in your lives. Please know that Brandon will never be forgotten for his service.
